I use them a lot and since they changed from extending your Prime account for 30 days because of late deliveries, I have been hammering them every single time. In a year I average 100.00 in credits or free product.
This year they have decided to not let me talk to their dot indians anymore and I actually get to talk to english speaking employees. These guys are pretty cutthroat and give no slack. They hold their ground and don't give an inch.
Now if you order prime and it says "Delivery by the 23rd if you order in the next 4 hrs" means nothing. You have to look at the order conformation to see what the actual delivery date is and according to them, it starts from the day it ships. Not when you place your order and doesn't matter what the screen says. lol

Prime stopped being a good deal several years ago, this will be my last year for prime, not that it matters to anyone but me. The game is dead !

I fucking hate Amazon. And I use it just about everyday. I try to hit up box stores as much as I can, but I'm always ordering from Amazon. I try other outlets, and the order just ends up coming in an Amazon box. I've given up trying to avoid it.

Search rock auto for part #, enter part # into amazon, still half the price of chain box stores for the same shit.

I abuse the shit out of their return policy. Never tried to game them on the late delivery credit. Sometimes prime is same day, sometimes it's a week.

The free shipping isn't exactly free either... I buy a lot of parts from different vendors, Rock Auto, etc... The prices at Rock Auto are typically dirt cheap compared to Amazon. They just inflate their price to cover "free" shipping. By the time you add shipping from the other vendor ~ it's a wash.

I do watch Amazon programs on Prime and take advantage of some freebies... but again, it's kind of not worth it in the end. The deals don't exactly cover the 100 dollars a year or whatever it is now for "Prime" membership. They need some competition to level the field, fawk Bezo's and his empire.

:cool:cool ha, that is exactly what I do. Being in Canada rockauto shipping generally brings the part on par with Amazon but still better than the FLAPS, so I just order from Amazon to get it quicker. I still do order from rockauto, but usually save up a bunch of items and that spreads the shipping cost making it cheaper that way. It's good to have options

Amazon Prime is $132 with tax here... they actually have a place on the site that says "you have saved xxx dollars with your prime membership."

Mine saved me $2.00 last year over the cost of the membership.

I cancelled the auto-renewal...

I need to cancel my auto renew as well...

Remember the $6 overnight? That was the greatest thing ever. Now its like 7 days. Like everything else in the past couple years, it costs more and you get less.

they make it hard now... used to be a button, now you have to get someone to do it for you... that pissed me off.
Seriously... I am scouring their site to find where I do that, and it's nowhere to be found. BS. So, I have to call them and listen to some weasel try and talk me out of it? That will be on my list of reasons why.

yaknow, I just logged into my account. I can't tell if I have Prime or not. It looks like I do? Then it tells me explore the benefits of Prime. I go to cancel my Prime account and says my order will be affected; I have a huge order of stuff to paint and do the flooring.

End or kill auto renew? I still have until October with my prime membership.

No idea. Mine's different.

before you go, consider extending your free trial

Apparently I'm on a trial account?

Fawk Amazon and fawk Jeff Blowzos. I stopped doing business with them a long time ago.

I find it interesting y'll have so much trouble with Amazon deliveries. Other than some orniments I bought for familylast year that ended up coming from China last one showed in March! The only other reason they don't show on time is generally weather related, either in transit or locally.

I tend to use Amazon for small parts orders, and Rock Auto for multi parts orders because of the shipping costs. I also like amazon because a lot of places will let you order stuff that's on back order forever and not tell you, then make a pain to cancel.

We use it to watch shows, buy movies, etc. The shipping is only a bonus. Doesn't cost me any more than Hulu.

Figure I'm at $30/mo for Hulu, Prime, and motor trend. Way cheaper than the $150 cable box.

does that actually let you cancel? I had to do a instant message session with some contact at Amazon...

i recently told my wife that the prime membership is bullshit now. prime used to be 2 day shipping. that doesn't mean shit anymore. the only reason i'm open to keeping prime is because of the shows we watch and the music service

I pay for a business prime, not sure what it costs as I do not see the cc bill. I get discounts though as a result on some things from the business account.

edit: looks like it is $179/yr

Even though I can't stand their political stance, we use them daily for music, TV or shopping. I live about 10 miles from the closest store so we order all the time

I go ahead, click cancel, and I do get a warning that my current order will be affected. So it seems to work?
Exactly... I don't want it canceled this second. I just want the option to turn off the auto renew feature.

It lets you cancel or set a reminder before it auto-renews so you can cancel before then.

I haven't had any major shipping issues. They are usually on time or delivered the next day, no big deal. They solve my issue every time I speak with their customer service and compensate me sometimes. I like Prime for movies and shit since I don't have cable.

Depends where you live. In a fairly urban area, then you likely have choices for buying locally. I am very rural. Local store might have one of something that is kinda what you are looking for, but only one and not a very good one. Having the option to buy online is a must. Ebay used to be good and competitive, not anymore, usually overpriced if someone on there offers it. I regularly do the part number searches through regular internet and Amazon is normally the, or very near the, cheapest option. And I can be pretty sure it isnt a fake site that will screw me out of my money. So, as much as I dislike Bezos, his group has things pretty figured, so I will keep my amazony membership. Walmart.com is trying to catch up, and once in a blue moon they have what I want at a decent price, but rarely. One day there will be an amazoon competitor, and I will have to decide if making the jump is the way to go. One day that is.

Same here it's 75 drive to ALb, so we only go there if we have to, like yesterday I had to have a tooth pulled, or mom has an eye Dr appointment, neice and her family moved to Tx so there is no other reason to go there. We could go to Belen, about a 50 mile trip, once again something we only do if we have to, mom was a truck driver with my dad for a while, and I used to travel for electrical jobs, driving to go shopping just doesn't apeal to us anymore.
