Trying to source an alternator for a 90s Mitsubishi FG25 forklift with 5G52 engine.

Finding a few possibilities, but they are all special order and $250-300+

Ideally if it crosses with something more common.

It's only charging at random. Used to be ok if I reved it up but I guess it fullyshit the bed

Look at rockauto for late 80s whatever mitsubishi
I say late 80s since alot pf parts will sit on a shelf for years when it comes to industrial eq and boats before they get installed

Yeah, figured out what engine (4G52.. I think it is and looked up anything that it came in in automotive.

Came up with 1980 Dodge D50 and a mid 70s Mitsubishi Colt.

The Dodge one looks promising. Working on the car and will pull the alternator after if it's still light out and I'm not too cold.

Was using the forklift as a hack for the car when it shit the bed, but it's been working half the time for a while.

Found two Mitsubishi alternators.

Pm me your em and I'll get pictures to you.

Pull it apart and see if it's just worn

Did some testing today, battery was hooped, even though tested ok a couple months ago.
Charged it last night and 300 amp load pulled it down to 10 volts within 15 seconds.

Alternator is putting out ~14 volts, but maxes out at about 15 amps. And falls to about 10-12 when revd up.
Charge light stays on which it would go out before if reved.

Looks to me like a plain ol' 10SI GM alternator with 180° mounting lugs would bolt right in without too much hassle, but hard to tell from potato pics... :homer:

:flipoff2:

[Edit] The top bolt looks to be grade 8 SAE so it might not even be a metric alternator... [/Edit]

Looks like a GM 1 wire from a TBI truck would bolt right in. Just pull up a cut sheet and check the mounting flange distance.

Fixed. 70s Dodge D50 with 4G52 was the correct one.
$80 at Schucks.

Not sure what the forklift was used for before but old alternator was packed full of dust, course hair (like moose hair) and like carpet fuzz.

Figure out the lester # that will give more options.

That's what I said, when I saw the pic.

Threads were stripped I'd guess. Replacement took an 8mm bolt.

I got setup with a small nut and bolt selection about a tear ago. Has been super handy.

Stuff like that, I'd be digging in the random bolts drawer or burning an hour going to the store.
