Right on, thanks for posting that! Do you cut that slot before bending, or after? Just curious :)

Looks like solid stock and he mentioned bending in a pres. I would assume the slot was cut first makes for a nice spot to push on

Yah, we milled the slugs. It's not a press effect.

i might have missed something.. but for bending aluminum pipe i've always gone with 6063

but i like miters better anyway, i can just never talk the customer into it.

Cage is coming along... this was designed to be a monocoque.

Ignore the lower bar, it's there to keep anything from springing when we pull it out to final weld.

This is 0 of 5. I bought it from my family business, after I designed and prototyped it.

This was the first one, that got sidelined when it was built enough and people could envision it. This one is should be 740lbs lighter with more HP, gear, speeds and tire. It also has a lot more aluminum fab work.

The other 5 got mandrel bent steel frames and chromoly bent cages - not a monocoque. They also got GM connect and cruise LS3 engines and 6L90E transmissions. We may build more of them, we're tracking orders now.

For some reason I haven’t been getting notified of the updates on this. Had about six months to catch up on. Looking real good! I have to say, you are always doing fun stuff.

I think Pinky needs a gun mount on the cage for

I've been looking at this picture for a bit now, I hate the way it looks with the tire sticking out like that. Body needs to be split and 10" added.
Good thing my opinion doesn't matter. :lmao:
I love the way it looks with the tires out.

The new rims put them out even more.

Think 40's hot rod with all four tires exposed.

Just more tire. :flipoff2:

Maybe its the flares on the rear, a hard flare on the rear might look better, something similar to the front fenders.
Several years ago I bought "flares" like those in aluminum. From someone like Sportsmobile or a utility truck body mfg. The other option is cutting down 18 wheeler fenders. Some have the flanges on both sides. Different sizes. Easy.l

Seems silly to come into a build 2 years into it and tell the OP that he should change the styling but lots of experts around here. Is this already sold to someone, going to be sold, or keeper? I think it would be an awesome ride in a climate where you could drive it most of the year.

Doesn't hurt to educate the readers that those CJ flares on a flatty look like ass.

Wiring happening.
