Alexa becomes alex

bring her with you into the mens room if you're that terrified of the general populace where you're at

toilets in in the womens rooms are typically horrifically dirtier than in the mens room anyways, it was explained to me that few of them actually sit on the seat, so piss gets fucking everywhere

I live in a nice small town and doesn't have these problems. Doesn't change my feeling about it.

If a skinny person looks in the mirror and says they are fat and takes diet pills they goes to therapy.
If a skinny person looks ln the mirror and says they are the opposite gender and take hormone blockers that's ok.

well, assisted suicide should be legal too

I agree if all the consultations were in place to verify that is indeed what they want.:stirthepot:

In some states if you don't want to go along with being in their world you will face legal problems in your world. It is not my job to make sure someone elses feelings are not hurt.

Also not you job to call someone the wrong name because you do t like their life choices. Maybe you can take ‘old fuck’ blockers and accept people who are different.

If it was my daughter, I'd tell her to call her/him Alex. No need to be disrespectful about it, even if you disagree. There might be an argument regarding the playing on girls team as a boy, but you have to choose your battles. Thats not the hill I would encourage my daughter to die on. To each his own and I understand that everyone raises their own kids a they see fit. At least they get to play again.

So you're saying, your daughter will be made to pretend along with the weirdo and enable their mental illness even more? So, what about your daughter's choice, rights and feeling? Luckily I'm an adult and will flat fucking refuse what you tell me to do..

Except i didn't tell you or anyone else what to do. I stated what I would do if it was my daughter involved. I also said "to each his own" so i'm not sure why you got sand in your vagina about it.

^^this. If she is now a he, then he can't play on the girls team. Now that is not necessarily an unfair advantage going that direction. A he that is now a she playing on the girls team usually is however.

In some states transgender athletes can only compete with their original gender, In this case that would mean that this Alex would compete with the girls. The issue comes if and when they start testosterone therapy. There was a girl in Texas I believe? that was receiving the equivalent testosterone of a middle aged man and was close to being state champion in girls wrestling. She absolutely wanted to compete with the boys but the state would not let her. The female to male side of the story has not been focused on much but has its own issues.

Yeah, sports is the real sticking point that no one can figure out since a dude who suddenly started competing against females would dominate. I'm of the opinion I don't give a fuck if someone wants to be called a male or a female or an it or whatever. They can live their life.. BUT I'm also a competitive person who gets a lot of enjoyment out of playing sports and feels others should as well. As such, I think situations like that should be evaluated on a case by case basis: if someone is still a beast of a man transitioning to a woman, they should have to compete against other men.

If "Alex" would get destroyed trying to play volley ball with the dudes, fuck it, let him play with the chicks. It's not like there're college scouts sitting in the stands of a middle school game.

As for people worrying about their kids, think about this: Is there a time in your life where you confused about your sexuality? I've known I was a straight male my whole life, nothing was going to change that, ESPECAILLY once I hit middle school.

we could just make everything truly equal and have one coed sports team.

frankly I don't like my tax dollars paying for school sports anyhow, so if we just deleted the entire fucking thing i'd be ok with that too.

I had this talk with my wife. She's more liberal than I am(I know, I know), but also grew up playing soccer all the way through college and competitively surfing. She surfed professionally for Roxy for a bit and as such also looks at sports from the business side for an athlete. People don't like to talk about it, but lumping everyone together would instantly eliminate someone born female from every getting on the podium ever again. Boom, just like that, we've lost professional female athletes.

School sports might not be everyone's jam, just like auto shop or band isn't, but I don't think we should eliminate those programs. Fund sports, the arts, trades, etc. Anything to get kids off the couch and doing something they like in the real world.

In this situation yes, until artificial testosterone starts, if it starts. I think that should be the deciding factor somehow.

For 90% of school athletes they are not chasing scholarships. I knew at 5'11" and average strength I was never going to be a college lineman but I had a lot of fun playing football and busting heads. On one hand there were always going to be Nose guards and tackles that would be bigger, faster, and stronger than me no matter what I did and I could take my ass whippings up and down the field but i never faced one that I couldn't hurt too. If I knew for a fact that certain opponents were juicing like an 80s bodybuilder and would just hulk smash me every play why would I even be there?

I'm just pointing out that in many cases they actually don't.
but in the truest sense of the word, that's what it actually is. If you think you're equal to men, then compete with them.

One of our techs at work, Rico (fake name), sent a group text a year or two ago that he now wanted to be called Suave (fake name) because it honored his dad. I guess it's a cultural thing, whatever. I think it's silly, but it doesn't hurt me so I just changed his name in my phone and tried to remember. I called him Rico to his face on accident probably a half a dozen times over 6 months with a spattering of Suave mixed in and felt no remorse either way. I've finally conditioned myself to stick to Suave. I still chuckle inside every time I say it because I both remembered and realize he still has an ID that says something else.

I get that he didn't change his gender identity so it's not quite the same as OPs incident, but if a girl wants to drop a letter from her name and that's the extent of the input required from anybody else, ok. I think making a mountain of that particular mole hole is wasted effort. The bathrooms and girls/boys sports issues are where it gets more dicey. Genetic girl (even if they identify as a boy, transexual, apache helicopter, whatever), playing girls volleyball though, whichever.

I guess to call myself a hypocrite though my sister in HS decided she wanted to spell her already abbreviated name of Katie (Kayleen) as KT and still does to this day almost 15 years post HS. I refuse to do so and still text my parents or her in regards to her name as the full Katie because I think it was dumb then and only dumber now that she is an adult with a career. I should really get over it, but I am petty apparently.

this is where the Olympic Committee guidance can be semi-useful.

basically, mens sports are open. women who want to compete as men can so long as they don't have testosterone levels that wouldn't DQ a man.

men going to womens sports need to have something like a year log of hormone records to prove that they have levels that wouldn't DQ a woman. more of a fine line to play with.

why? well, because if you are a chick and want to get dominated by men, have at it.

but we can't just eliminate womens leagues because then women would never get to play

Yea, my coworker's kid does track. Dominates the field. Boy running against girls. Everyone cheers for him too which is weird.

and that's the other thing about it, men to women transgenders are far more common than women to men. we didn't have a girls football team, but we did have (a) girls that played on the football team in highschool. nobody really gives a shit if women want to cross over and there is no advantage, so women are less likely to make the switch.

hence the focus on the men to women side of the house.

well, everybody except for the competitive girls who are trying to get set up for the next level  of course people who won't do anything beyond whatever level and are there just for kicks don't care, which is the great majority of people.

I almost think they don't know. I mean, you saw this kid you'd think 100% chick.

one team.
all genders.

fixed. equal. compete on your own merits.

we did have (a) girls that played on the football team in highschool.

We had 1 or 2 that came out every year. It was a poor "diverse" school so they never really had tryouts, if you showed up and put in the work you could be on the team, otherwise once grades came out we would not have a team. These girls could hang with the summer conditioning but without fail they all quit 1-2 days after pads were handed out. Nobody cared or treated them special, hell it's hard to tell people apart in full gear so they got hit like everybody else. They were tough girls but nothing in their life up to that point had prepared them to be hit at full speed by a person who has 100 lbs of muscle on them or hit someone so hard that your lights flicker and you start blowing snot bubbles.

pretty well same, no real tryouts to speak of. certainly she didn't get hit as hard in practice :rasta:

I've weighed 130 lbs since I was 16.
what makes me different than a girl on the football field in regards to mass and force?

perhaps we should define the teams by size?

I have a customer that is a F—M transsexual. I call them by the name they gave me. It’s really easy.

First, Manlet😂

Second, Aggressiveness and willingness to take and give hits. If all things were equal, (and equal weight does not even come close between genders) attitude is the difference. I am talking the instinct for boys to seek out and engage in rough play. You or I might get steamrolled and get up laughing, most girls are not built that way physically or mentally. Muscle mass and bone density are the physical issues here.

Hell, I was 220lbs fighting weight in HS our fullback was also around 220 lbs but he ran a 4.3 40 yard and could crush me heads up. Force is Mass X acceleration and they measured my 40 yard with a sundial.

Equality as a respected peer vs physical equality are two different things. I don't think any rational person is arguing that women are as physically strong as men.

and when I played sports it was always in my head that it was just a game, and i was not willing to sacrifice myself for it.
which is why my sports career was very short lived.
sports is dumb.

fight me.

all the equals.

otherwise we get people making decisions about what constitutes equality or not.
and then we have fights about it.

I don't think any rational person is arguing that women are as physically strong as men.

rational people walked away a long time ago

the problem is convincing the rational people that it is worthwhile to not be apathetic about it, even though most chicks will never make a full fledged career or even part time career out of sports, denying them any success early in life so that men can play on womens teams isn't a great option
