So my daughter(10th grade ) comes home from school today and says we have a group chat for volleyball, king cuomo just gave us pemission so they can play . She says you remember Alexa , well she is in the group chat and say hi I'm transgender , I was Alexa and now I'm Alex. She asks me how does that work? It's a girls volleyball team . Daughter has a good head on her shoulders and proud of it! I told her to just call Alexas as always and if there is a problem to have check inside the front of her pants for validation. The next few weeks could be amusing /interesting! Anyone else have a similar situation?

if she/he wants to be called alex, call them alex.

if they are transgender and want to play on girls volleyball, then i guess they are off the team. their mental health is more important than some high school sports team and should be treated as such. give them their space off the team so that they can practice for the mens team to make their reality match their mind

i know several people who have changed their name in the non-transgender fashion. alexa vs alex is pretty simple shift and there are millions of girls who go by alex. I knew a chris my whole life and was confused as shit when somebody called her "christine" :laughing: straight as an arrow.

i really try not to get overly hung up on names, they really don't mean anything and a misspronounciation or a deadname is not an assault on a person.

but if a chick on a chick team says "i'm a guy now" well, alright, you can watch from the stands with all the other guys then. if they decide that sports is more important then i guess they can remain a chick for another season :laughing:

Coworker adopted twin boys from some Asian country. They were like six months old. They're about 20 years old now. One, at age 12, developed gender dysphoria. Full on to the hilt. Drugs and everything. You'd never know it was a boy. Its the creepiest thing seeing them together knowing they're twin boys. He puts so much effort. Changes his voice and everything. You can tell after he's talked for a bit because it starts off high pitch, and as he gets more relaxed it gets a deeper tone, he catches on, then heightens it up again. But, everyone plays along. Oh that dress is adorable, your makeup looks fantastic, those are the cutes shoes I've seen. You're a fucking guy, bub.

Its weird too. The whole family is conservative. Dad's a master fabricator, the other twin is in the Army as a mechanic, they're natural son is quite the welder, etc. This whole thing is a total spaceshot.

I just choose not to get involved. I don't bring up anything involving that domestic disaster.

the drugs are the crazy part.

hell it used to be a proud SE asian culture to be a dainty boy that sorta dressed like a chick. fairly easy money to be made, pretty average risk of death for the area. Hell it is probably still a thing in SE asia, the addition of drugs to the problem here in the 'states makes a big deal about of an otherwise not big deal. :laughing:

LoL I thought this was going to be a thread about amazon changing the name of their spyware pods from Alexa to Alex...or letting people choose? Surprised it hasn't come up yet...oh wait, no I'm not, men don't get their panties in a bunch about the name of inanimate objects.

also, prepare her to avoid getting dragged into their drama, because it will ruin her life if she hangs around overly dramatic sorts of people
my brother made some attention-whore friends early on, and he's never been able to get over himself since, covered in tatoos, can't hold a job, just generally plays the "look at me life is oh so very hard" game that you see sometimes

You mentioned twins , so I have a first cousin that her and husband had twin girls (18 yrs old now) , there dad was an outdoorsman went on hunting trips all over . Probably ten years ago I am quite sure he new he was not going to live to much longer. Went on a trip to Wyoming? Never made it to the next point. Week later he was found in his tent . So the girls kirsten and katland ,katland just recently decided to be Alex ! And with all the crap going on I just remembered that the volley ball girl's grandfather passed from cancer which I knew . So I guess there could be a thing with dealing with loss of a loved one? My father died 4 months ago and I don't want to be Sally :flipoff2:

Wife and I hoping the drama shit is long gone like 2 years ago . Daughter is finishing the school doing the cosmetology at boccesse and just got a job /internship at an assisted living place.

create a nickname or shorten a name okay
change from male to female or female to male and some old fuck gets hell bent on telling you how you can’t change. Damn old people are fucking sensitive. Get over yourself. Very few people give a fuck about Alex or Alexis so maybe your daughter should get called by her name and everyone should just call her a different name because they don’t like her name.

what’s the problem with changing a name and using? Oh you’re offended by it and it scratches you the wrong way so you’re king turd on shit mountain.

I will not baby anyone, and I will not avoid heavily favoring the use of male pronouns. I will call your wife "man" and "dude" even if she's all whored up with more paint on than a body shop stocks and her tits hanging out. I've had female coworkers point out to me that they're female, my response being "Are we using those parts of you? Good then why's it matter?"

You haven't met many trans people have you? At least half of them are okay, but the other half are the biggest shitstain drama queens you will ever meet.

ETA: and the normal, stable ones I've met have universally been at it for more than 30 years. Recent converts were raised by the TV to be the horrible caricatures that nobody wants to deal with.

If it was my daughter, I'd tell her to call her/him Alex. No need to be disrespectful about it, even if you disagree. There might be an argument regarding the playing on girls team as a boy, but you have to choose your battles. Thats not the hill I would encourage my daughter to die on. To each his own and I understand that everyone raises their own kids a they see fit. At least they get to play again.

That's where I am with it, had two ladies that were potential customers stop by, one had an adams apple and large hands, I heard her acquaintance call her Gabrielle No fucks given, It's not like she approached me and said Hi I'm TRANS! do you have a problem with that? Def woulda stuck it to her acquaintance :smokin: but I'm not gonna be a sandwich :laughing:

if she wanted to go from alexa to alex in name and didn't add the "but i might be a boy now" part, nobody would think twice :laughing:

if she says she is a boy now, we must accept it I thought. Therefore HE can't play in a girls volleyball team. Which is it?
If you let thus "boy" play on the girls team, you need to let every boy who wants to play on it as well. That won't leave to much room for actual girls on any team, ever.

^^this. If she is now a he, then he can't play on the girls team. Now that is not necessarily an unfair advantage going that direction. A he that is now a she playing on the girls team usually is however.

If a skinny person looks in the mirror and says they are fat and takes diet pills they goes to therapy.
If a skinny person looks ln the mirror and says they are the opposite gender and take hormone blockers that's ok.


In some states if you don't want to go along with being in their world you will face legal problems in your world. It is not my job to make sure someone elses feelings are not hurt.
