Didn't read all this but......anyone ever ridden in a balloon? Not a tether up and down, a legit ride? I crewed for some folks that have one and went to a balloon fest with them. I don't know how many miles we went but it was cool. A little unsettling but still cool.

I have. When the basket was short on passengers crew would ride as ballast. Worked for this company.

Not ABQ, not us flying, but we saw the route they took this day and the game viewing must have been outstanding.

And a champagne brunch in the bush on landing while armed guards prevent you becoming lion breakfast - outstanding. I think this was about $250 per person converted.

I was working on some folks house, they were part of a chase crew. Big story of the day was a ballon that came in to hard and people got hurt, the husband said every landing is a crash some just harder than others.IRIC just as they touched down they got hit with a high gust of wind that drug them
