Self aware will be coming next

AI gets 5 hits to 0 for experienced pilot in dogfights. That’s pretty crazy.

Flying a plane limited by carrying a meatbag. Imagine what it will do with an AI-specific design!

Test fails, f-16 by design fails as it requires constant trim inputs to be stable, the "1st" fly by wire computer controlled fighter aircraft cause they had to, and an Air Force pilot.

A Hornet wirh a Navy TopGun, obviously would be a different outcome:stirthepot:

Heh self-aware is not on the horizon.

[INSERT]LENGTHY POST QUALIFYING MILITARY EXERCISES, WAR-GAMES, EXPERIMENTS, AND OPERATIONAL TESTS, CONTEXTUALIZING THE RESULTS, FRAMING THEM IN A WORLD OF BUDGET SHORTFALLS, NO-RISK BIDDING, R&D CONTRACTS, ETC[/INSERT]

And that's why this is not really AI and why this experiment doesn't mean as much as the headline says.

AI won because it was better at playing chicken and had 360* awareness where the human pilot was limited to a small screen. Yes, eventually there will be autonomous fighter planes and bombers. Robot Wars!

In the simulator doesn’t count. A computer can play a perfect game at anything that doesn’t require judgement...
