I'm hearing that many of the Bronco places are hesitant on designing and putting money into new products as there is word of a platform change for 2023. Has anyone heard anything about it?

I've done some searching and no one is really putting anything out for the new Bronco. It seems everything has to be bought through Ford.

I haven't heard a platform change for the bronco. Supposedly it was built on the frame being used for the new Ranger update for 2022. Maybe that's what you heard about? There isn't much 6g Bronco traffic here, but we are starting to see products from lots of vendors. Some of the usual suspects some new players. Northridge4x4 has a bronco and sells stuff. I loaned my 2-door base sasquatch to MetalCloak for 3 days of measuring and modeling and they have a 4 door on order. Hell Quadratec is launching a whole site for the bronco, Stallion 4x4 Nothing for sale yet but it is coming. It's the first year, there will be more stuff, but we can't expect it to rival Jeep support yet.

You will see more and more lifted Broncos with shiny new bolt on "Mods" at a mall near you. Hell mine was at Target yesterday with my new bumper and winch! Of course I did build my bumper so that might not count...

There are rumors that there will be a platform change, but right now they are only rumors.

Plenty of companies building/designing parts for the new Bronco, the biggest hold ups are being able to source a Bronco to use for designing parts and the supply chain still sucks balls.

Northridge4x4 has Bronco parts from ARB, Warn, Addictive Desert Design, LoD, and Rigid lighting, to name a few.

A beefier rack and pinion would be nice.:flipoff2::laughing:

You mean like this.....
Severe-Duty Steering System and Performance Tuning
Ford Performance Parts also developed several new Bronco chassis components for the Bronco two- and four-door SUVs, including new severe-duty steering rack and tie rod ends to further improve steering system durability under high loads. The team also created performance tuning for the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that can be uploaded via a Pro-Cal 4 scan tool to the OBDII port.

Link to said rumors? I can't believe there would be a platform change anytime soon since it is an all new platform that is supposed to be shared with the next gen Ranger which hasn't even come out yet  I can't imagine Ford making any major changes for the next 5 years. The Wrangler for instance has notoriously long design life cycles. 10 years for the YJ, 10 years for the TJ, 12 years for the JK, and the JL is already entering its fifth year.

No names but I know some of the major Bronco venders and that was the reason they said they were hesitant to put any money into design or tooling.

The rumors are over on the Bronco forums.

I'm not saying they're believable, just that they are out there. I would think Ford would stay with this platform for 5 years or so before any major redesigns. Hell they haven't even been able to get the hardtop right yet and they're on V2.0 already.

I can only hope it is because Ford realized they fucked up and need to make it with a 5.0L and a solid front axle :flipoff2:

If you want a live axle, go buy a Jeep... :flipoff2:

when I move permanently from the apartment to the ranch, prolly in a year or so (lumber is still way too expensive)(there is already some bunk houses there but nothing we could move in to)..

I am 95 % sure Im gonna try and trade my Dodge Avenger and get a used bronco.. Ive looked lately, I should be able to get around 8 grand for my car so, maybe 7 or so in a year?

cuz the last 9 miles of the ranch road is unpaved and has lots of problems.. they are widening the other half of the road (first 10 miles or so) right now.. in the middle of Las Tiendas Rd what used to be a toll road crosses and you can go way around to avoid the construction.. from there on the unpaved ranch road with lots of small bridges is the only way into Las Tiendas Ranch which is at the end of the road

the road has lots of traffic becuz of the oil industry, and they fuck up the mud so cars cant make it often

lookin forward to reading about mods and stuff..

I don't see this becoming a bolt on kit any time soon, but if people keep experimenting like this upgrades will follow.
