Running those safety chains over the top of the tow bar is a sure-fire way to kill those nuns... don't know how I missed this update when it happened.

It's one way to make sure that the bus stops if the tow bar gets disconnected...Running those safety chains over the top of the tow bar is a sure-fire way to kill those nuns... don't know how I missed this update when it happened.
Another way is that when that air line pops off, the brake valve would pop as well (unless plumbed directly to the brake chamber, as I believe he did, so it would be an instant application of the spring brake). It's one way to make sure that the bus stops if the tow bar gets disconnected...

IIRC the blue line is usually service brakes, and red is usually parking brakes, if that is correct and that is how it was plumbed, the service brakes would disconnect but the parking brake would not apply until the orange air hose was stretched all the way out.Another way is that when that air line pops off, the brake valve would pop as well (unless plumbed directly to the brake chamber, as I believe he did, so it would be an instant application of the spring brake).
We'll have to get him back in here to describe the air system he set up, as I can't tell clearly from the pics exactly what is going on.IIRC the blue line is usually service brakes, and red is usually parking brakes, if that is correct and that is how it was plumbed, the service brakes would disconnect but the parking brake would not apply until the orange air hose was stretched all the way out.

When I was taking them out, I strongly considered torquing some new ones in. I'm think of fabbing up another battery tray for the passenger side and possibly something to mount in place of where the wing plow brackets were. You plan on putting bolts back in those holes?
why? i can think of ways that wouldn't be helpful, but none that are.You plan on putting bolts back in those holes?
Why what? It was just a curiosity question.why? i can think of ways that wouldn't be helpful, but none that are.
maybe huck bolts, maybe. i hear of people welding holes, more bolts etc, but usually more harm than good.
Yes. I don't plan to separate the rails at this time, but I need to shake the rust out and seep in a coating. Then I can bolt stuff back on.Ought to bang on the rails before they get jacked too bad.
properly torqued bolts supposedly make the holes less of a stress riser than leaving them open, where welding them up is the worst thing you can dowhy? i can think of ways that wouldn't be helpful, but none that are.

^ definitely not welding them.nice deep tires

I'm doing no good at updating any of my vehicle threads here, lately.
Took these last night. Truck still runs and drives, but I've got a relay in the back that's randomly clicking and causing the trans control pad to restart on occasion.
Rat(s) had gotten way to close to the TCM harness for comfort. No severed wires. Just some light snacking. Gotta cruise through the schematic again to figure out where these head to.
Sure can, though they don't work long. I've been hosing both this truck and my Subaru with peppermint oil. Lasts about a day. There's supposed to be an electrical tape made with cayenne pepper that keeps rodents off. I haven't looked it up to order any and haven't felt like taking the time to wrap the bazillion miles of wiring on either pile.stupid question but can you spray them with something to prevent that?
Some type of poisin or some shit that repulses the rats?
Raisins in snap traps are working just fine. I'm really just catching up to all the damage that was done months ago.Bucket traps?
Not yet. And yes, the thread is gone. Got real tired of dealing with people here about it.I went searching the other day, but apparently it's gone. Are you living in the shed-house yet?
