92-97 Front bumpers

I used to really like the way guarded front bumpers look but now all I see is this:

Wish I could have my old opinion back....

97 Ball Joint axle and stock rear 10.25

Did it come with coil springs or leaf? If leaf how did you mount the coilovers? Where did you get the arms from? I currently have leafs and I am wanting to switch over to coils.

Oh I think I've seen that, Patrick Swayze I believe? A movie about basically driving a big rig too long tired and seeing the black dog or something?

Yeah, I think that is where the name came from. I think the plot of the movie was about hijacking semi trucks.

some people know my longish history with mostly ford trucks etc, and I will not describe just now

the main problem with most after-market bumpers and guards etc, is that they don't give.. I know at least 10 cases of people thinking they had no damage only to find out they bent their frames..

the 2nd problem is that they don't crunch correctly, so in an accident your air bags won't deploy..

third is the weight issue.. for bigger ones, on all sizes, cuz some get super heavy unless they are hollow.. and many people fill them with sand

You're gonna have a hard time getting people to give a fuck about frame damage on a forum where people frequently build vehicles from scratch. I'd rather fix a frame than a unibody any day.

Why would you fill a bumper with sand? I could see it on a purpose built rig for different reasons, but not a daily driver.

I’ve always wanted to put this on an OBS but the stars never lined up, I always sell them before I get the bumper mounted. I pulled it off of a 1990 Bronco. It’s been modded slightly for a body lift. I’m cleaning house. It’s located in Winchester, VA. What’s IBB think it’s worth. Anyone want it?

So I happened to come across a bumper for pretty damn cheap, has an M12k in it that's "junk" but I'd bet it is an easy fix.

I think it's a reunel, but not sure.

I'm in the fence about the grill guard shit. We have deer, elk, moose, ect around here, and it may help in that situation. But damn it's ugly

I'm thinking chop all that shit off and fill in the dumb mesh it might look decent. If not I could probably sell it for more. Same guy also has a huge 5x12 or something rear bumper for basically free, would be nice to have, but I think it's just too huge

Even looking at that Pic I'm wondering if I really want it, looks like it sticks way out. :homer:

Here is one I built for my lawn ornament. I wanted a winch, super tight to the intercooler and did a shackle reversal at the same time to keep everything snug. The top of the bumper is not flat at all and makes working under the hood very difficult!

I’ve been battling this same thing. Most the bumpers available are HORRIBLE for the 92-97 trucks. I’m building a Bronco and going to have to have my own bumper built,
