91 Ranger - 2.9 v6 alternator v-belt?

So I am putting gas in my ranger and this kid walks up and asks if he can take picks of my engine compartment as he is trying to fix his ranger.

I end up at his house looking at the shit show he has and it needed an alternator so he wen to Vato-zone and they sold him a serp belt instead of a vbelt.

Wiring plugged right in so that was good, but serp belt is no bueno.

I searched all the parts store sites, amazon, etc and cannot find a V belt alt.

What am I missing?

Oh yea... the core has already been shipped out by the parts store so I didn't get to see the original...

Swap the pulley at the store they probably still have his core


I once got to do this for for some other customer while I was waiting because a wet behind the ears pussy behind the counter was afraid to hold the pulley with his hand while he rattled on it with the 110 impact. He expected it to bust the nut loose without holding it, afraid if he held it it would rip his hand off like it was a drill.

Teachable moment inspect both parts on the counter before leaving.

A good parts store will have a box of pulleys they can give you.
It's common for people to have to swap on their old V belt pulley as serp is just more common these days.
