91 Camaro

What is this finishing sealant you speak of?

It's just another step. I'm sure other companies have their own flavor that they call something similar. Usually use ceramic wax as the final step. I stick to Maguire's or Griot's products personally. Both have very large lines of products that work well, it's easy to get lost in the amount available and where to start/what to use.

Ok, so it's like old school waxing. Wasn't sure if it was sprayed on, never heard the term before.

Power washed the rear axle, control arms and panhard bar. These are actually the arms out of the parts car, it had the same aftermarket ones and they were in better shape.

Quick coat of paint on them.

Springs and shocks. I've had this Eibach ProKit and Koni yellows for probably close to 15 years. They were installed on a car but never driven, pulled them off before selling that one. Car originally had Eibach SportLine springs. The ProKit spring rate is geared more towards handling and the SportLine more as a lowering spring.

Installed on the car.

Forgot to grab the swaybar when I left this morning so that'll have to wait till next time. I still need to get a bent panhard bar brace and lowering bracket so the dual exhaust will clear.

Been picking away at this here and there. Beginning of the month Koni's were on sale so I picked up the matching yellow front struts. Didn't really want to spend the money, but getting $75 off each was hard to pass up.

Put the taillights and rear wiring harness in. Not sure I'm going to keep the covers on or not.

Before putting any of the interior back together, mainly the dash, stuck some sound deadening on. Have a little bit more to go before I'm out from under the dash area.

Just a heads up, would these interest you at all?

While it's a decent deal, I don't need them. I don't think IROC's go well with the 91/92 cars, just doesn't look right. I've actually got a set of 88-90 IROC wheels that I had resurfaced and cleared.

If I go with a factory style 3rd gen wheel it'll be a set of GTA crosslace wheels. Hawks has a set of 17's out that are fairly affordable, not sure if they brought out 18's in that style yet or not.

Either black or gold would work. Don't think they released a silver set yet.

Pulled the main harness out of the parts car. That one looked to be in better shape than the hacked up one original to the car. Thinned out some unnecessary wiring....airbag, factory ecm stuff, and rewrapped it.

Ideally I would have used the dash from the parts car as well, but that one had a small crack. My original one was in decent shape still. The wiring is integrated into it, so you have to disassemble the whole thing to get it out.

Put together a column from a few different ones. Used my original turn signal, wiper and ignition switch. I had thought my factory one just needed the upper bowl tightened but once I got it apart I found the upper bearing blown out. Grabbed another out of the shed and put my wiring into it along with a slightly less worn out lock cylinder.

Had help at the shop earlier in the week and we tossed the hatch on. Hooked a battery up and everything works that I can test so far. I've got some stray voltage coming from somewhere. The taillights stay on whenever the battery is connected. Going to have to trace that wire and see where it's getting its stray power. Hatch pull down motor actually works great in this one. It's got the late 91/all 92 style which is a little better design.
