Guy near me has an 82 long box that his dad owned since new. Has been sitting for a bunch of years. High steer, Arb air locker front, 5.29’s, 3inch lift leafs, shackles, u bolt flip on one side only. Soft ride lift leaf pack rear (7 or so leads with anti-wrap), detroit locker and 5.29’s as well. Has some rancho shocks all the way around that have air lines on them and are hooked up to a little compressor adjuster thing? 3 air tanks in the rear. Cab is pretty rusty, has an interior cage. Engine is built (cam, bored 0.020 over, decked head etc last 500kms) weber carb. trans and tcase in good shape. All ujoints are tight, tie rod ends as well. Frame is solid until right behind the cab where it’s fucked and has been plated multiple times. Wiring is a RATS NEST. Guy has a spare everything, frame, tcase, visor, doors, trans axle parts etc etc. What everyone think it’s worth? (in canukistan)

I really want a first gen project but i’m in debates whether this is just too far gone and better to be parted out.

tree fiddy??
how bad do you need a builder?
cannot buy something you have to tow home for 2k here usually
We figure non dot uasge?

I see an engine, couple third members, tcase, and some scrap I'd have to deal with.

$1500 USD... if I wanted the headache

Has clean papers and vins, so could be streetable. Yeah i’d have to tow it home with a uhaul 600kms when i am finished my machinist level 2. Not sure what you mean by how bad do i need a builder? I would love to have a project and a first gen yota is what I want but i’m in no rush (other than they will only keep getting rustier). He said he would price it for the axles and drivetrain, so pretty much less/or around how much it could be parted out for is what i figure he meant.

I was thinking about that much (canadian dollars in my head ofc). Might send him an offer

toss him a lowball #
re raise till he bites.
what I meant was this is a complete frame up build. Once you swap the good frame into it, and keep going till it is usable... (see what I mean)

Oh yeah sorry i see what you mean. I’ve got a small shop i can store it and work on er, so it will either get frame swapped or back halved, then once I have the cab off it will probably get majority of rust fixed or i find a better cab. Not going to be fun re-wiring the whole thing, but honestly something i should force myself to learn. All of this of course only if i can get it for a deal. Not jumping into this if he’s out to lunch wanting 6k or some shit

22re swap that shit and clean up the wiring, fixing some metal frame bastardization shouldn't be that hard. Offer a payment plan... also, I really like how the spare fan belts are zip tied to the hood. I've been a sucker packing that shit inside my rig.

To conclude this thread, I didn’t even end up making an offer on this truck when I found a much better prospect to start a first gen build (Will link a thread for that when i start it). The guy who owns the truck pictured above mentioned although he is happy to give me first dibs, if he listed it he would list it for 6k+, which is ridiculous. Anyways anyone on the lower mainland of canada looking for parts (like arb 5.29 thirds, semi built axles, high steer stuff, lift leafs, built 22r with weber carb etc) i can get you in touch with him as it sounds like he might be willing to part out.

I like pack ratting stuff too. Fan belts, spare hoses, and spare arb line are under the hood.

I also try to use 2 hose clamps on rad or heater hoses.
