I can't believe this is so difficult to search out...or maybe I'm just a dipshit tonight...everything I'm finding is either someone trying to swap out 6 lug for 8 lug outers, or trying to D44 parts in a 10b.

Do the 6 lug and 8 lug 10 bolt fronts use the same shafts?

I'm not trying to swap to/from lug counts, merely figuring out what I can use as spares.

I have an '85 K20 8 lug 10b under the front of the crawler now. A buddy has a set of axles from an '84 K5 he's giving away. Can I snag those shafts as spares? I remember reading that the 8 lug 10b is a couple inches wider than the 6 lug version, but can't find whether it's in a longer housing/shafts, or in the hubs.

Axle shafts are the same and interchange.

8 lug Wms is different as are backing plates and calipers along with the hubs.

Housings, spindles and shafts all interchange

Ok, so the flange on the hubs is in a different spot then. No worries for me, I'm not going back to the smaller brakes or 6 lug wheels.

Awesome, thanks!
