Thanks, yeah i reconize it get pretty dead there.

Anyway im a huge fan of rock crawling and hardcore offroad from the U.S and AUS etc. and i want so badly SaS my 4R just to make it a bit more custom and special, but here in my country the rules for custom car builds is pretty stright.. so i think i will just continue to "enjoy" the Ifs torsionbar suspension. at least it works good enought afterall i use it as a softcrawler and overlander rig so., was plan to swap over a marlin crawler 4.70 gearing in transfercase at some point but will see..

The truck have a problemfree 1kz-t 3.0l engine and 5speed manual at least, 4:10 gearings in diffs so it works ok for regular use..only a lsd, will get a spartan locker later. only 31 and 32" wheels for now.
Planning to get some 33" but need to check some clearences and prepare a set of wheel set first.
Got a tire i will test before i order a new set. cooking together a roofrack for transport at the moment for my daily driver.

I'd probably say not to swap in a 4.7 case. For your type of use I think it will be too low. Dual stock cases would be better, but I understand it's a lot more modifications.

Does the diesel use a gear or chain driven case?

Yeah i guess so, pretty expencive also to get it shipped over the sea.

It is an R150F gear driven only.

In the states all the r150s came with a chain driven transfercase behind them. You cannot put 4.7 gears into that case.
Yeah i read about it, thats sucks.

Here its pretty standard with r150F behind the 1kzt diesels and 4:10 gearing.
Also 2.4 diesel r150F with 4:56 gearing.

That rig is nice.
I've cooled on the necessity to solid axle everything. I think if build correctly and on a reasonably light rig t-bar IFS can be effective. I've got this generation 4runner that I'm going to build. At the moment the current plan is to leave the IFS alone and push it as far as I can (well, as far as I can cheaply ) before I consider it, especially since it sounds like many who do SAS them end up either basically building a frame from scratch after all the breakage due to different loading points, or are constantly having to fix broken shit when wheeled hard.
You're hands are tied it sounds like, but even then I'm not sure how much a sacrifice it actually is for it's intended use.

Sounds like a plan, Yeah the frames getting some stresspoints i guess after a swap and hard driving , and i don't really want to have a leafspringed car anyway so, i guess i would miss the comfort with a straight axle on leafs for my use.
It may look cool for pictures tho.

I did make a ifs frame brace earlyer this year to minimate impact if hard hit would happen, but was mostly for fun to have one,but for now the suspension works ok.

I have a set of new OME torsion bars im gonna throw in cause of more weight im throwin on.
But first im gonna make a new rear bumper, probably this winter.
Going for tubes and probably a slim design.

Nothing wrong with ifs. I ran 35x12.50s on the same platform for years with pretty good luck. I tubbed the firewall for clearance and did not lift it at all.

I now have a 96 4runner with 35x10.50s on a 2" lift and it's such a great all around rig, I have zero desire to SAS it. If I ever want to go crazy with bigger tires, I'll still keep the ifs.

How was it to drive with that size compare to brakepower, enginetype, transmission and gearing was used in the diffs?

I was thinking to get sone 4:56 gears but first will try out the stock 4:10 with 33" i think it would be fine for my use.

So i have begun to prepare some parts for the engine, got all the exhaust and turbo gaskets etc, got an extra turbo to downpipe pipe that i ported. will do that also for the manifoil to turbo exhaust.

This is to make the engine to breath a bit easyer, cause alu heads on these engines dont like to be driven hard over time cause of exhaust backpressures. Not that im driving it hard, but anyway im gonna pretend this will help a bit for the flow.

The head manifoil that is ported on the pics is from a from a kz-te with Egr, and a bit different from the kz-t.
So im gonna port that one i allready have on the engine.

I actually put those tires on right when I bought it. It obviously helped the capabilites a lot. I went to 5.29 gears at the same time. With the 22re, it was necessary.

Some work again on the small roofrack today, nothing special.
But iv got tested out my new welding gloves at least and test fit some other stuff.
Going to weld in a nut under the middle rail for the wheel attachment bolt so the wheel will lie more safetly. also gonna have more strap points to tie down stuff.

I had the most fun wheeling my truck IFS, on 33s with a crawl box. I won't the front open and used my winch as a front locker:laughing:. I only broke one CV. I like my truck SAS on 37s, but it's not as fun to wheel if that makes sense. I wasn't trying to push anything on purpose, I was just a cheap ass.:lmao: also can't beat working on the driver mod.

Testing the dummy 33" on 0 offset wheel today.. meeh.. took a tiny bit on the inside sidewall treads on full turn but not much.. will try it on the other wheel that i have -19 offset to get the wheel a bit more out.
Gonna buy new 33 tires but probably with not same tread design.

Soo preparing the wheel lock thing today with welding on a nut at bottom and the extension pipe will also be a thing for this system.
I could deffently build it other ways, but this is what i got right now. at least i can remove it completly when i dont need a sparewheel or so.

Will make a center plate to clamp down the wheel center later.

Up to my neighbour today and swap over the 33" tire from the offset "0" wheel to offset -19mm rim/wheel.

Looks much better on the rig with that combo, have to trim a bit on the rear on the front fender i guess later to not rub when turning in the uptravels, at least it dont rub the front stabilizer bar now on the frame.

Awright, new phone so i forgot this forum a bit. Well got 33"s on now.. just some china tyres, swapped out with my 32"s. Cause i think i will get some new rims for them later.
So basically i have a set of 31, 32 and 33 now..

Minimal mod with a bit cut and glue inside the innerfender to have some better clearences.

And the funny thing is that they are 3kg lighter than my 31"s on steelies. 38kg vs 35kg

Awesome! Good to see you over here. t4r.org is pretty dead these days unless you have a 3rd or 5th gen.
Just wandered onto marlins site...:shaking:
No real early yota support :stirthepot:.
Not sure if this is the first time I have heard this before.....
Op welcomen:emb:

Few days ago i had to cook together some mounting brackets for the recovery boards for the yakima rack.
I have total 4 of them but 2 on the roof is enough, they are not as slim as the original maxtraxx.
