I'm looking at purchasing two steering 419 axles for the extra beef, disk brakes, air lockers and the gearing will be better for on the road. My only hesitation is the brakes, I'm not super familiar with the SEE Tractor - FLU 419 ... believe they run with air assist? That may be a PIA to add to a 404 without that air system. Anybody know how that system works? Would a simple compressor & small air tank do?

They are Air over Hydrolic brakes, instead of a vaccum booster it uses air for the booster. So the brakes are just hydrolic with a booster. So if your 404 has a vaccum booster it should work.

How much different is the torque tube / pinion interface between the two variants?

I'd imagine there's going to be a heap more work getting that right than there would be adapting brakes?

These have a flange kit for them. It's also about the extra beef and better road gears

Why not use Ford F600 hydro calipers on the 416 rotors?

I have a set of four...
