It's pitch black here, 7:45pm. I just saw about 40 lights very high in the sky, dead straight line, heading north, moving fast like planes. A single white light apparently on each. What could it be? There was a small space between each one but moving so fast and high i couldn't count exactly how many. I'm befuddled.

Fucking Elon wrecking my night sky :mad3:

:flipoff2:

Ya, it's certainly not helping. What really irks me is all of the trash just left in orbit. Tens of thousands of bits and pieces sailing around in every direction.
I honestly can't wait until some space mission gets taken out by debris. Maybe then all the space going countries will clean their shit up.

I don't disagree, and I sometimes ponder what it would take to achieve that. Then I start contemplating freelance laser spaceships killing space junk for profit, and then... What was I saying ? :lmao:

Looks like a string of beads from Uranus? :flipoff2:

EDIT: but seriously,

Long after we are gone from this planet after it shakes us humans off like a bad case of fleas, that shit will still be up there. Eventually it will all come crashing back down, but that will be eons.

TV show in the 70s or 80s about junkyard owner using salvage bought from NASA to go up and collect

I feel like I'm fairly up to speed on most things happening around the world, but I'll be damned I've never heard of these satellite trains.

The Starlink sats are only up for like 5 years, then they come back and burn up.

Lots of other stuff up there for good though.

True. The crap is actually causing problems for space flight now. The ISS has to change their path quite often to miss trash. And every space walk on the space shuttle always had the shuttle positioned to block any problematic debris from hitting the astronauts.

It would be a damn shame if a trip to the moon or Mars got taken out by a piece of trash before ever getting out of orbit.

I'm sure the US, China and Russia all have satellites up there to kill other satellites. That will certainly add to the trash problem.

At least all the Star link sats are designed to deorbit and burn up.

I wonder what people in some tribe in South America or Africa think seeing the satellites considering there's so many people in a 1st world country that are blown away by them. I bet their entire religion changed the first time they saw the satellites going over.

You’ve never seen the movie :
“The gods must be crazy “. ?

It’s a hilarious and Probabaly true movie about a first world tribe that comes across an object from the modern world and how it affects every person who comes in contact with it .
