3RZ vs 5VZ cooling fan?

Does anyone happen to know if a 5VZ fan will fit a 3RZ, and if so, are they different diameters? They are different part numbers, and toyotapartsdeal.com lists different dimensions, but I think those refer to their packaging.

My 3RZ truck came from a total hack who evidently removed the electric fans the first owner installed, and put a belt driven fan back on. He never installed a fan shroud, so I just tried to install a 3RZ fan shroud and it's nowhere close to fitting. He claimed to be a Toyota mechanic, so if a 5VZ fan will bolt on, and he had a junk 5VZ fan laying around, I suspect that's what he did.

I don't want to throw more money at this stupid thing, so hoping someone here knows.

Just occurred to me - Slander you’ve got a shorty 3RZ radiator on your 5VZ. Did you have to swap your fan to make that work?

No, just cut the bottom of the 3.4 shroud off.

That's a good move that the previous owner ripped out the electric fan and put the factory clutch fan back on! Probably saved you a head gasket or two right there!

Apparently that was a dumb question anyway since the fans are not on the same axis in a 3RZ and 5VZ.

Yeah I’m no electric fan fan but you would think most people would be smart enough to have at least some semblance of a fan shroud haha.
