I purchased a 38 gallon tank to replace my factory 19 gallon unit in my 1976 f150. The kit comes with the extension to modify the fuel pickup on the sending unit. The float arm also needs to be modified if the gauge is to read accurate.
They do not offer a over the counter sending unit which would be ideal. I did notice that the full size bronco offers a 33 gallon tank with the appropriate sending unit to the tank.
The dimensions of the tanks are
33 gallon bronco tank
31 7/8" x 22 1/4" x 15 3/4"
38 gallon tank
34-1/4" x 27 x 13-3/4"
Has anyone tried using the Bronco sending unit on the 38 gallon tank? It appears the arm on the sending unit is longer on the Bronco unit from the pictures I have seen. It would be a lot easier to shorten the sending unit then cutting and brazing. The fit on the extension tube that comes in the kit is terrible.
