What's new

2bbs 2021 bronco build

2bb said the front is off the cv side, not the wheel hub. So the same rpm as the rear.

I don't understand how it knows there was a gearing change either, but it clearly does
It very well could be off the wheel hub and im mistaken. I was going off where it looked like it went into the portal box.

The rear sensors are left alone and the first set of tibus portals that are going on a manual will be installed this weekend

I just got off the phone with him!

Yes, the Tibus Portals basically leave all the wheel speed sensor/tone rings in the "oem" locations. I didn't have to do any recalibration on mine.

Talon2006 can confirm but Tibus gets around this problem by leaving the sensors alone and letting the portals reduction offset the tire size.

I see you also made it over here!

Its sounding like all the 74weld/ auto combinations are fine as well without recalibration. The auto computer must allow for torque converter slip.

I think tylers will be the first 7mt tibus rig

I think so too. He's about to start on it. Maybe i'll head over this weekend and heckle him.

JR4X and 2big bronco
Y'all (or the other race team in the case of JR4X) need the Windows version of Forscan with a OBDLinkEX (wired USB) adapter.
It will let you pull the correct configuration from Ford and install it in your ECU so it knows what to expect.
See: 2017 f150 steering rack replacement - FORScan forum and 2013 f150 electronic power steering rack help - FORScan forum
2BB If your issue is computer related, it should let you track it down, it should also let you reset/relearn different systems AND pull all the ABS codes (vs generic ones).

It seems odd that a tire size mis-match would freak it out that much. Wouldn't there be tons of people who put larger tires on and didn't re-gear all having the same issue?
So I’m a dummy with electronics but when i installed a FP tune on my Bronco. My tire size got reset by the tune to the wrong size automatically. This threw off my speedo by about 4-5 mph and threw the same codes that he originally got. I used the ProCal tool to set the tire size back to the correct tire rotation setting for my size tires and all codes went away. I also helped another person that installed an FP tune and he had a similar issue. For his, we had to do the AWD relearn thing using the ProCal tool and it fixed his. Not sure why but it did. If the system needs a relearn, the ProCal tool does it in a few minutes.

Dude........ Want to get even more perplexed

The wiper switch on our 15 F150 went out a few years ago. At the time it was kinda funny since it was stuck on the lowest setting so the wife was driving around sunny CA in August with the wipers sqeeeeeeeeeking away  the switch was cheap and I was busy with work, so I had a mechanic buddy do it and another minor thing at the same time.

I go to pick it up and he goes, "now you just need to take it to a dealer to have it flashed to the truck" the. Wiper. Switch?

Now that I think about it, I would have been really mad if it was dead of winter and ford was 3 months out they often are around here.

But, when these newer trucks work like they should, which they usually do, they really are awesome.
Can fordscan / whatever does cracked software not program modules / the CAN system

You basically can't do maintenance at home without the dealer flashing it?

There has to be some form of 3rd party software to do it? Even BMW had one

Seems like fdrs software can but its $1000/year

I don’t think you need a module programmed. You need them relearned. Any of the high end snapon scanners should do that. There may be a reset procedure as well

i do NOT know if this one has the power, but this brand seems to be pretty popular. Dad spent several hundred on a high end one and it seemed to have all the power a Tech2 would have on a GM. Search of their website/specs may confirm one of theirs can do the Ford stuff you need without the expensive subscription service

To be fair, this mechanic buddy at recently lost his entire ~8 bay shop to a fire, so heay have had the capability before and not replaced it yet.

Still dumb for a fucking wiper switch.

Your still broken? FDRS is the cheap way at $50 for a 2 day subscription. Expensive way is Stage 3 Motorsports has Pro-Cals in physical stock and will next day air it to your house for $750 if you call.

Havntt had time to mess with it yet. Forescan dongle should be in the mail today... hopefully Saturday afternoon I get to mess with it.

So after tearing my hair out figuring out how to buy a laptop, turn it on, and get it working, then I had to figure out how to download forskin and use it.... And its not made for non computer savy people.

After 20 different attempts inputing info and driving around I think I got the issues solved. I have at least 40 miles with no issues.

As soon as I got back I got this from the owner of 74weld. Apparently there is another manual bronco and he got it figured out today also

Is there a screen shot or quote missing?
Yes but the little picture icon is greyed out

Guess I wasn’t such a dummy lol
ford is dumb for calling it a clutch slip mismatch and dropping engine power rather than the olden thyme's when a bad/unexpected/incorrect wheel speed sensor just gave an ABS malfunction and simply shut off anti-lock brakes/stability control. Call the stupid code "expected speed sensor mismatch" or something silly.

I mean, hell, ford, do ya'll really expect people to burn up the clutch SO BAD that it regularly slips more often than people change tires?

Didn’t sound pain free at all. Lots of time and extra expense to tell the computer that everything is ok and change a couple parameters.
pain free once you've got a solution

beats some fluke where it really was burning up the transmission or something stupid. hopefully this makes it into the Caution label whenever these get sent out in the future
