Sounds like it will be followed by rain too.

Anybody remember burning man this year?
This doesn't look like fun.

As a Midwesterner, there’s a good chance I have a lot more experience in the mud than the rock guys….. so you know…. If you racers need a driver with mud experience …. I’m here for ya :flipoff2:
I'll be there for the desert race weekend and into qualifying - as a life long snow/mud driver, I'll volunteer my services as well:flipoff2:

I am just starting to use onX.
Does anybody have a link to a folder with this years course?
Any other folders that would be good for the area?

I don't pay much attention to that so Im not sure on the specifics, for the other races its a few days before the actual race

onX Offroad: The Official GPS Mapping Partner of King of the Hammers

We’re thrilled to have onX Offroad back as the Official GPS Mapping Partner for the 2025 OPTIMA King of the Hammers Presented by Ford Performance.

The official 2025 King of the Hammers race course is now live on the onX Offroad app and has been added to the app’s Basemaps for the Johnson Valley area. Participants will be able to use this as a tool to navigate around the lakebed and through Hammertown and find the best spectator locations on race day.

After downloading onX Offroad, users can search for “Johnson Valley OHV” to see the race course, as well as view the “streets” of Hammertown, pit locations, mile markers, spectator viewing areas, and start and finish lines. The map can also be marked up to make it their own, creating routes and dropping waypoints that indicate camp spots, meet-up areas, and destination points – and easily share them with friends.

Before you make the trip to Johnson Valley, onX Offroad encourages participants to download the area’s offline maps so they can better navigate the desert, even when out of cell reception.

King of the Hammers participants can take advantage of a 40% discount on onX Offroad subscriptions, of both Premium or Elite levels.
To redeem, enter the code KOH25 at checkout at the onX Offroad website.

Only thing I'd add is if you don't want to buy onX yet, you can test drive it during KoH with our 2mo free Trial.

The lap is looking really good, with plenty of places to watch the action. For the EMC and main race, I'll probably start at the starting line, go back to camp to eat, then head over to Backdoor, then over to the speedy desert section, down to the bottom of Chocolate Thunder, bounce over to Tumbleweed, then see if there's any action at Sledge then finish up at the start/finish line for the large gap jump the have. it'll be a lot of driving but worth it.

Heard from a couple of dudes arriving today that Boone Rd is a shit-show, with an accident or two. Hoping it won't be as bad this time tomorrow.

Decided last minute to head out for the week, will be out there 3rd - 9th. Total noob going for the first time solo. I will be in my 4runner so if you see me wave me down for a chat and a .
