What's new

2024 Wildfire season. :(

We've had a few good runs through there :smokin: I still dig up the go-pro footage from time to time. Hoping the rains/monsoon pattern quench this thing (and others).

What? 2JZ Stay safe...
Foote fire is pretty much out thanks to some rain and hard work of the Hotshots. I delivered 30 sandwiches and potato salad to them on Saturday. Those dudes bust ass.

Thompson fire thought it was controlled at 15 acres and then the winds pushed it north and it jumped the river.

Power is in and out with PSPS events thanks to PG&E.

I've been through a couple 'far' misses and one very near miss. In all honesty, I don't sweat it too much. I can do more to prep for a fire than I can a tornado, etc:emb:
yea cuz you might fend off a fire by being diligent, but that bitch " mother nature"
boy howdie not so much:flipoff2:

Mocassin
south of Placerville

Man, I think alot of this our over sensitivity. We are right back to surround and drown. I get there is a ton of other issues that exacerbate the fires, but fuck, every little blaze is not a Rim or Creek fire....probably because of these efforsts....:homer:

I don't have any remedy. :(

Well
The toll blaze and the soda fire that sparked the 17 coffey fire started the same....
Cept they got on it and held it at 50 acres....

So let's make one thread about wildfire? :flipoff2:

Eh, sort of like any other disaster, we can be aware of anyone in/near these sort of mother nature disaster and help out any way we can.

The media.

I get it. I know people who have been evacuated 15 to 20 times. But the "every fire is a disaster" is bullshit media.

For me, the Vision fire and the Oakland hills fire started it.

every fire is a disaster. Every summer the heat is goona kill us all. Rains are goona flood us out and god forbid if it fucking snows.

I do not understand why anybody listens to that shit

It wasn't always this way, that's what I'm saying.

that is life these days.
the news will make every event, and end of days event. its what they do.

I do not think people in this thread have done that, it is more of an information thread and heads up to those that it may affect.

the Oakland hills fire (Tunnel) was so small by comparison of fires today. it was where it was that created the problem.
I think it was about 1600 acres?
but there were over 1000 structures lost.

the Rim fire was not that special except for its size.
at the time it was of the largest the largest, now it doesn't even make the top ten.

It wasn't always this way, that's what I'm saying.
agreed.

Thompson fire Oroville Ca

3005 acres. According to calfire watchduty had it wrong for a while @ 3600 acres.
