2008 Dodge 6.7L no start, no PRNDL

100% stock including all the BS emissions. Before I just become a parts monkey, anyone have a direction to go?

Turn the key and no crank. Everything else in the truck works. I can jump the starter wire and the engine spins over but no start. so starter is good. No engine DTCs, I'll add to that later.

I noticed the PRNDL light doesnt come on. Gears all hit the holes just fine. No letters, no outline. I traced wires under the tipm and looms and found no breaks or chafed. The connector for the valve body was clean and no obvious bad pins, wear, corrosion.

I scanned all the modules and came up with:

TIPM - lost comms with ECU/PCM
- starter circuit open (prob from me jumping circuit)

WCM - lost comms with ICM

TCM - P0652 - low voltage (batteries are good and this one comes and goes)

ABS - orginal vin mismatch
- vehicle config missing
- list comms with ecu/pcm
- lost coms with icm

I reset the cluster and disconnected the batteries for 30 minutes and tried again. Same shit.

If I clear all the codes. The WCM, TCM, and TIPM go away until I tried cranking it again by jumper. ABS codes come back immediately.

My main concern is the PRNDL doesnt register, so nothing about the engine will work. Is this a TIPM problem or do I need to drop the VB and replace the module? Everything looks to be adjusted fine. I've dealt with PCM issues in this generation before, theyll let me crank but not start, so I'm ruling that out.

Reflash? TIPM? VB/range selector?
 
I think if the prndl was causing a no start it would be a no crank. Does your scanner give data like rail pressure?

No, I dont have that info.

It is no crank, no start, from the key. Just wanted to verify the starter was good. It wont start key on, jumping the starter, either.

Neutral safety switch shit the bed? Worth at least jamming some probes in it and verifying it’s functioning.

I wont see the truck again till next week.

From what I read the 68RFE doesnt have a NSS? But a module in the VB that tells you the everything.
 
Put in fresh batteries today. Still same symptoms.

Looked the harness over again and didnt find any breaks or chafed.

Did notice the reverse lights works, so the trans module is working? All gauges works work BUT the PRNDL
 
I did a engine on one a few years back. after i got it back together no prndl....

went trhough testing and found a burnt pin on the harness at the connection under the wiper cowl.

no lies i did some ghetto shit where i soldered a chunk of paperclip on and it worked for a long time
