2007 highlander radio problem

Hopefully not a horrible place to ask this question.

Working on an 07 highlander hybrid. The radio won't work. If I pull it from the dash and remove/reinstall the wire leads, it will work until I turn the key off. Then the whole process starts over again. Is it a radio problem? If so, I'll just replace it. This has the jbl stereo with cd and tape deck.

Vin locked same as chevy silverado trucks maybe, that or "There Can Be Only One" Afterall its a HighLander.

It really doesn't seem like that's the issue?
I can't make the radio do anything (no lights, screen etc.) unless I unplug the supply plug. Then it will work just as it is supposed to until I cycle the key.

What happens if you reset the radio?

^^^^ After replying last night I tried to re-plug it in and then turn the key on to see what happens.

Now it will not do anything, no lights, no screen, nothing.

So, I ordered a used one from ebay and fingers crossed it works?
