Wife’s friend has one of these rolling turds. She moved here from California and needs to fix her turn signal issue before passing inspection.

I checked grounds, light sockets, tore down the battery terminals as much as I could to clean them, and she replaced the turn signal switch.

Basically, the driver’s side turn signal will flash abnormally fast and then stick on.

The Kia forums aren’t much help. She said she read something about a BCM possible needing replaced? I can’t find what the heck that is, so I don’t know where to tell her to buy it from. Guessing it’s a module for the turn signals.

Thanks!

BCM is the body control module, high failure rate part for those cars. The flasher relays are what actually fails but they're integrated into the BCM which is part of the interior fuse panel.

Enough so that Kia replaces, or at least used to replace them all the time even out of warranty.

On the plus side they're easy to replace. They're usually right above the fuse box in the dash.

Google it and you can find the relay and solder it into the bcm, it’s an easy repair if you can solder.
