Good Morning!
Don't forget Ford/Volvo's PTU (bevel gear/transfer caseish thing).well, ackchyually... your examples are awd and not 4wd 🤓 , {unless your going deep into throwback land to subaru loyale/DL/GL and Honda wago-van with the shifter mounted push button...}
I've also owned several MDX's get center diff/tcases replaced to address whining conditions within 200k. {much-less their transmissions made of eggshells which can make a 4l60 seem robust}
I had $3000ish into having the transmission rebuilt in our 2005 Yukon 1500 (5.3L, 4x4) in Aug 2022 at around 180k miles, that was dropping it off at a shop and them rebuilding it and replacing the transmission cooler lines.
A goodwrench reman 4l60e is 2700, probably 2400 at the counter if you're not a douche.
A local rebuild on the bench should be 1500-2k
Jegs has a reman for 1700. It's not a huge expense considering new half tons are 50k
Mine personally went 186k with no known maintenance, bought used at 164k and previous owner said he had no record of fluid changes. and my friends went 175k with zero maintenance and regular towing, original owner
It's no 4l80e, or 6r140, or zf6, but if it moves a 5500lb truck around for 15 years and costs 3k to get the rest of the pile to 320k, that's pretty reasonable cost of ownership.
*I liked them a lot more 3 years ago when they were $1600 at the dealer counter
A coworker had around $2200 into dropping/installing the transmission himself in his 2007ish Chevy 2500 pickup and having someone rebuild it ($1700ish for the rebuild and $500 in parts and fluids putting it back together)
