1986 Volvo 740 wagon built by my friend John Giffin, for the DeathWish mud buggy show, aired on Amazon and YouTube.
It's a rust free 740 Wagon, with the unibody plated, a Gen 3 GM 4.8L, 4L80E and NP261, with a 1988 Ford Dana 60 front with WFO high steer and 2003 Chevy 4 piston calipers with a 2003 Chevy 14b disk braked rear on 37X12.5X17" Interco TSL/SX2 (five of em) and Battleborn bead locked wheels. Uses a Ford F350 steering box, 1/2 ton leaf springs and shocks and has a 9k lb winch. New power steering pump for the hydroboosted brakes and new starter.
Dual batteries in the spare tire well.
When we got it from John, the 6L he installed was hydrolocked (sticky injector) so we replaced it with a low mile 4.8L, thinking it will be fun, boosted. Didn't get around to it and now I need the room. We also added shackle sliders for the front and redid the rear shackles for proper 1/2t leaf spring function.
It comes with a parts 740 for things like the grill and fender cuts to make it look more Volvo and less like an XJ Jeep Cherokee. I'd swap in the black interior in place of the tan one that's currently in it. You can gut it here and I will dispose of the carcass.
It's a running, driving, steering project where the parts are worth my ask.
Interested in trades for all aluminum high end GM Gen 3,4 and 5 V8s like LS7, LS3, LT1, LT4 or other interesting parts. Also dirt bikes and nice watches.
It runs, turns, and stops.
It needs wiring help and the body finished, as it was rushed for the show.
$7500 where it is, as is.
