Hello! New to the forum, but not new to the internet and other forums. I was referred here from a user on Arfcom after talking about VS killing old/good forums. Anyway, I picked this truck up last year and have been working on it at home ever since.

It's a 1981 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4 with a 351M engine, C6 transmission, NP208 transfer case, Dana 44 TTB front axle, Ford 9" rear axle, with 3.00 gear ratio. I picked it up from a guy that bought it from his neighbor, that had used it on his property for about 20 years. It still has the last inspection and registration sticker on the windshield. The previous owner had dropped it off at a shop that struggled to fix some of the issues it had, after sitting for so long. Based on what I've seen, it had 200 miles put on it in 20 years, yikes.

After the cash changed hands, I fixed some wiring and did a quick and dirty carb rebuilt and oil change. Got it running good enough to get home, then went to work on everything it needed.

List of repairs I've made so far: New BFG All Terrains (32 11.5 15), radius arm bushings, pivot bushings, shocks, rubber brake lines, checked/filled all fluids, freeze plugs, transfer case seals, muffler, U joints in rear drive shaft, rebuilt carb, standard tune up, new ignition module, mechanical fuel pump + lines and filters, new fuel tank, heater core and hoses, radiator/engine block flush, new heater outlets in block, choke thermostat, rebuilt drum brakes, brake booster, brake master cylinder, new OE dash pad, lock cylinder and ignition switch, and a bunch of other little odds and ends. Still a lot more on the list, but thankfully this is a weekend toy just for fun.

On to the pictures.

What are the plans going forward?
Honestly, nothing wild. I'm still fixing little things here and there as they pop up. The engine isn't running at 100%, and has 200k+ miles on it, so it'll need to come out for a rebuild or replacement one of these days. It's a perfect candidate for a 460, but I may just rebuild the 351m as a mild 400. I'm more of a fan of stock looking older vehicles these days since there aren't a ton of them still on the road.
