I would do the bottom scheme but opposite. White roof and bottom with orange belt line.

That is what mine is now, but I'm going to do (opposite of) top option. White roof and rest lime green. Bought paints today. What can go wrong?

Yeah thats what I'm thinking as well on this. The blue would be white and white would be orange

Same here. I've owned a 1965 chevy truck since I was 17 and always wanted to paint it orange but never put any money into it so never did. Now this truck I will be painting so now it's time for orange, but not too much. Also going white so I can do the bottom front edge of the bedsides with white raptor liner to help with rock chips as well. Should look awesome when it's all done and hitting the desert, and hopefully someone will love it more than me and offer me so much I can't refuse it and will be able to pay off my future home with the profit.

Ok slowly getting closer to reassembly on this thing, BUT I am in escrow on a house with a shop on 5 acre, so that will be a priority to get that place cleaned up and the shop walls finished inside, electrical, and my lift, and the home cleaned up, heater working. And then I will be moving out there to finish wiring/plumbing this thing up on a lift since crawling underneath it to do all the plumbing for the fuel, trans, and brake lines would suck so I have a lift and the new shop is 3x as big as this one so will have room to breathe and set stuff up much better for this and for my business to work out of it, Also it is 45 min from the lake bed for KOH, so I will be able to help people that go out to the hammers as well since i'll have a shop, CNC plasma and the knowledge to build this, and fix most anything people break out there.

Now back to this truck. Got the rear links and front radius arms 3 coats of steel-it, then tomorrow will flip them over to do the other side AND get the beams all painted as well.

Ok so I got the links and radius arms all painted up. Then I got the rear axle brake lines on so I can weld the little tabs for that. I am using 3/16" stainless line with -3AN ends as well as the same length soft brake lines everywhere on this truck, front and back of links, radius arms, to all 4 calipers etc, so I can bring a couple spares just incase, which is why they look a little long at calipers BUT will be clear of everything so not worried at all.. I also have a couple line locks on the brakes after the master cylinder so if one brakes I can shut off the system to prevent any more fluid leaking out while I fix it. So now those are done and welded so I can clean that housing up to get it painted. Then in a couple weeks I will take that AND the front diff to my gear guy to get them done so I can reassemble those under the truck. Also got some primer on the backhalf, I will have to grind the spots where I weld on the dzus tabs to make the paneling removable, AND i will have to mount my floor jack and batteries, as well as bedside mounts too.

Ok got the rear axle painted, as well as the upper links and the beams. I am letting them dry tonight then tomorrow I will flip them over and paint any spots that i missed. Gonna pull off the diff cover to paint the inside of the truss area that I couldn't paint with it assembled. Also painted the rear brake calipers which will match the front calipers, AND painted my brothers Silverado front shocks which were super rust with steel-it as well.

Ok got the rear hubs all cleaned up and painted with some black paint. Also installed a set of bearing race's And wheel seals. Once I got that done today I finished up my battery boxes and mounted those behind the cab. Also I got a TE design 2.5 ton jack skid and mount and have that mounted behind the fuel cell as well.

Ok one not truck related update is that my family and I bought a new house in Lucerne Valley, CA which is 45 min to the hammers lakebed. It is perfect setup for myself, 5 acres, 3bd 2 bath home AND a 2400 sq ft shop. Previous owners died and their kids took personal belongings and left everything else, garbage, trash, RV's included. Here is a walk around video of the before on this one and tomorrow will be out there again doing more house stuff to get this place more livable so I can wire and setup the shop to move everything out there.

Thanks. We already got a lot of the tumbleweeds graded up and burned. This weekend we are going to caulk the cracks and fill the holes where the nails hanging stuff on the walls. Then we will paint the inside cabinets and walls. The mobile home is in great shape and has been re textured at some point in the last 30 years since it has been built.

Looks like it has great potential! What's the long term plan, get the house cleaned up and the shop cleaned/insulated then move in or just the house and pick away at the shop?

Well I have already hauled away 45 yards of trash with 2 dumpsters and painted the inside of the house so that is cleaned and ready to move into. The shop has had everything gone through and throw away or put aside to sift through more to sell in future. I am planning on getting the shop wired up for my welders and such next couple weeks so then I can start loading my current shop up to move out there and then get this thing finished up soon as possible without cutting any corners. My camera decided to not turn on again so I will get that figured out this week and do another video of the progress on it next week sometime. I am planning on going out to KOH to watch the TT race and then following weekend going out to try and spectate the 4400 race as well since I will be less than an hour away I can adventure out to check it out since I haven't been to koh in 4 years

Here is some photos after the first weekend of work. Thursday afternoon until Monday morning we left. Myself Mom and my Dad with a tractor for 3 days and 30 yard dumpster. We stayed in the house this weekend and it's all cleaned and ready for move in. Just need to run some more electrical in the shop for my welders, lighting, some more outlets along the back wall and a spot for a drop down to my 2 post lift AND a spot to do a drop for a second 2 post lift I will be getting once moved out there as well.

Ok been preoccupied with working on the house BUT i did work on the truck today to get it 1 step closer to being able to install the motor when it gets finished up in a week or two.

I boxed in the swinger to the tube today. Welded those up completely, as well as the transmission crossmember and transmission mount. I then primered all of them so I can get the paint on it next week when I get back from working on the house again this weekend. Also cleaned up the front hubs, installed new races/bearings and got them all painted up

Ok got another coat of black steel-it on the engine cage and frame under the cab. Reassemled the rear suspension with the correct heims/spacers ,hardware and new bearings to get that as a roller so I can load it on my trailer in 3 weeks to move into my new shop. Also made some solid shock spacer thing to keep the truck at ride height to load onto my trailer easier. Black pipe with some old tabs welded on each end.

Ok well majority of my time this past month has been getting my new shop/house ready to move into by the end of this month. Motor is coming back from the builder tomorrow, then some paint on that thing and assemble some items and then mate transmission to it and reinstall. I never posted photos of the engine cage all painted up. Welded some TMR Customs zip tie tabs for the wiring and masked off the raptor liner on the firewall and shot it and the frame under the cab to behind the link pivots as well.
