So for a while now there has been issues with 14bff 10.5 aftermarket gears winding up with zero stock style shims and some wanting even deeper than 0. I e built a few that were zero and now have one that is wanting significantly deeper setup.

I found some un labled assumable toyota shims in my box and they fit the pinion head/inner bearing seat sufficiently but digging around and matching a spare race (hm803110) i find that large bearing d60/61/70 inner pinion shims fit the race perfectly.

There was a thread here or on pbb asking about it but hell if i can find it so just throwing the info out there.

Are you asking if it's OK to do? Or saying you did it?

Either way, the answer is.....by bus.

fwiw i had the same idea but havent needed to do it yet, if you havent yet i say go for it

Im just pointing to a source for shims should one need them.

However. Im having some serious troubles with this set i got from a pbb guy (which is why i was searching through my stache of shims)

I've put a few together with 0 shims but never found a source for some shims to install under the pinion bearing.

Thank you for sharing !
