Pinion depth looks good, I'd tighten up backlash a little bit and run it.

Agreed with the above. Pinion depth looks good, but backlash is too open for my own preference. The yukon manual offers a backlash range of .006-.010 for 5 cut gears, and .008 to .012 for 2 cut gears. I would pull it in to .007-.008 which should help center things up a bit, and run as much carrier bearing preload as you can muster

Have you tried a .018 pinion shim to see what it looks like?

Tightened up the backlash to .008
Added .010 to each side of the carrier for preload. Was a bear to get the carrier in and out. Still at .024 of pinion shim. Pinion preloaded is around 28 inch/lbs with a new seal and bearing.

Found out this axle is a 2005. The gear set is a 10.5 with 31 spline. The first install kit was a 08-10 which pushed the pinion too close to the ring gear. An 05-07 rear pinion bearing and race was needed to move the pinion far enough forward.

Nice, I'd say you're in pretty good shape with these latest. And enough carrier preload to make it really suck to get in and out is perfect. 28in-lb pinion bearing preload with the seal is within spec, though a little towards the light side of spec (20-35 in-lbs bearing drag, I add an assumed 5in-lb for seal drag).

Should be good all around though, I'd say button it up!

edit huge fan of lubelockers. Install it dry, and reuse it for years to come. RTV works great, but makes cleanup a process in the future

Haven't tried the lubelockers yet, but the "right stuff" sealant has been the best I've ever used.
