while building it I was always curious how the brakes would work as they were not traditional vacuum boost brakes

Once finished I found out that the brakes worked great aside from proportioning but nothing I ever got around to fixing

After the last year of wheeling since it’s been “finished” the abs module started beeping at me after I pumped the brakes 2-3 times

Since I’m not using anything but the master and however it boosts the pressure I wasn’t about to spend the time and money to diagnose and fix it so after some asking around I found that a 2nd gen tundra booster would likely bolt to the firewall and it does

Now that’s about all it did, I had to extend the linkage in the cad about an inch

This photo show the difference between the tundra linkage and the 4runners

This photo shows the fix for the difference a m10x1.25 union nut. I had to buy a 3/8-16 then drill and tap it.

After deciding to use a tundra booster I originally thought I would just use a tundra master as well but after reading about the bore size and seeing the price I decided I would just go with a gm 3/4 master with a 1.250 bore that’s available and most part stores for $30-$50

This came with a host of its own problems but nothing to serious

I cnc plasma cut an adapter to mount the master to the booster and welded a plate to it to hold a proportioning valve. I then commandeered the lathe at work to machine a pushrod adapter

I now have a tundra booster mounted to my firewall and connected to my pedal and connected to that I have a gm master cylinder mounted with and adapter kit I made at home and work.

This is about as far as I have got so far I figured someone one day would want to do something similar and I would share what info I have

I will update once I bleed the brakes and drive it.
