good running 1.6 engines are getting expensive and many have the same issue. I would like to rebuild mine after I found a damaged piston.

There are some things on the internet about the blocks cracking but most of it is conflicting about whether or not the block is worth spending a little money on after it cracks. Mostly the hwy 83 Suzuki video. Not much on irate either, maybe some in one of FleshEater threads.

So what say irate? Rebuildable or junk that’s going to blow up soon?

I junked my block.

Try to find an 8V block and build it out to 16V if you can. Have a pile of 16V heads laying around. They have to be my least favorite of the Zuk motors.

If I don’t rebuild this block I’m leaning towards a swap, something a little easier to get parts for. And for my project a stock engine is perfect.

I just kept buying $350 Trackers and pulling motors for good ones. You part a Tracker out for about $1,250 if you’re patient.
