01 f350, 7.3, zf6, T&S 6 position chip with their canned tunes, on the low ("+40hp") setting, 489xxxkm.
Was fine yesterday, jumped in this AM and had a CEL. Started and ran fine, but had a light. Drove my bush truck to work, and came home, plugged in my cheap ass code reader and got nothing. Remembered from the last ford I worked on that I could start it and look at stats as I drove, so I started it and plugged the reader in. A minute or so later it died...but the CEL was gone. Starts and runs fine, test drove it, normal operation in stock, high idle, or +40 positions on the chip.
What the fuck was that about????
Do I have a sensor shitting the bed? Where to start looking? I've reached out to see if anyone has a scanner that will read the codes on this, as I've read that most cheapo ones won't.
