    12 V winch on 48v power

    So getting a winch for the new jeep. Occurred to me the other day that the Jeep has the ability (theoretically) to provide 48v to power a winch. The amp draw reduction would be very nice, but no one really makes a 48v winch. So what are the drawback to running a normal 12v DC winch motor on 48v?
