Looks like an old Baja Designs.

There's a ton of different bike headlights if you're not scared of wiring. Plug and play is where they jack the price and become hard to find.

Currently I have a couple $30 Amazon 15w LED pods on my bars. Works fine because the only reason I'm riding in the dark is to get back to the truck and being fast isn't a concern.

Had a RM 500. Raced Open class with it. Rode CR 500s and kept the 2004 KX500. My friends on the CR 500s couldn't keep up on to my KX500. Then again, my KX isn't stock HP either. It's down right scary fast. The main thing is I did NOT like about the CRs was the head shake. My other bike is a slow slow ass 2004 KTM XC-W. I'm spoiled to the electric start now.
 
I'll get in on the Rekluse convo, they suck :flipoff2: . Rode one for the first time about a month ago, realizing when you let out the clutch it will still roll backwards wasn't a fun time. Was strange, not for me, I like my clutch. This Kawi looks sweet, I'm looking at a TX300 to replace my 2020 FE350 I bought new and now this Kawi offering comes out which is at a much better price point than the TX, but I love my Husqvarna. Also being an early adopter isn't usually the best thing.

By far, in my expierence this is a funnest class
just show up with what you got

If you want to bring your cheater bike that you sneak into the displacement classes you can (by the way we all know you are cheating) and run it

We go to the sand dunes often, I run a now out of date underpowered sxs compared to what is available now days
I never run my mouth, but at least once a trip that guy that announces to everyone how fast he is and he will try to wait so everyone will be able to catch up....by the end of the day he will come over and try to figure out what mods I have made

what exhaust? that is stock
springs? those are stock
what clutch? ....also stock
ported? stock
but you have it bog bored? no, stock

At least I think I'll look cool :flipoff2:. In all seriousness if you're a ****ty rider, you could probably still benefit from a bike more suited for your riding style, but buying one solely because it'll make you better is stupid lol. I'm buying a 2 stroke because I do Enduro **** on a 4 stroke and I ain't Billy Bolt or Jarvis so I could use some help in that department, can I do it? Yes, I do the pivots, log hops, clutch drops up obstacles, rocky stuff and whatever, but it's more work than the 2T. Do I expect it to be immensely better? No, I do know it will be a bit better though because I've ridden an XCW and a TE and see the benefits and draw backs for my riding. Also I want something new, 4 stroke rider my entire riding life, I think I could better hone my skills on something more suited for the riding style I partake in and like the most. Alot of people don't have this outlook though.

Unfortunately we haven't got the chance to ride that much. Having 5 bikes that are all ~20 years old just meant one or 2 always was broken. Decided I'm going to to start cycling them out for new as bike are a hobby I just want to go play and not wrench.

He's been on a kx65 with some trail mods since about 8, My only hesitation is that's he's now 13 and like 5'7" so he'll probably out grow the 112 in one year, but it will be there for the younger ones.

Also thought about a beta xtrainer as I want the wife to try a "fullsize" bike. She's been on a Crf150f for ever and loves it, but it obviously has limitations

Yeah, having a new(ish) bike is nice to actually enjoy riding it. Just bolt on some little upgrades, replace what breaks, and ride it.

An X-Trainer is a unique bike. It's a good option unless the rider is really small - it's still a full size, full weight bike. The suspension is very basic and gets overwhelmed at any speed, and the chassis feels terrible when ridden aggressively or at speed. And of course the engine is super detuned but has smooth delivery.

For a beginner rider who is tall/strong enough, and wants to ride tech at slow to moderate speed, it's definitely a cool option.

Ya, I've looked into it quite a bit.

Currently they both ride the Crf150f, it's about the same wieght and just a bit smaller than a full size. So the beta should be better than the crf and not any heavier?

I know everyone that rides one loves it, and doesn't need many spare parts. The spares you do need, well you better know your dealer and keep your own stock on hand because you can't overnight it from RMATV.

I haven't bought him a head insert yet. But we swapped the stock piston at 100 hours, needed to go to a "C" Wossner. It'll need a re-plate as 100 hours was far too long. We'll see what it measures at 150 hours, and likely I'll buy an insert then.

Turns out the damn thing is even more fun with compression! :laughing:
