There was a case of a woman who had dreamed creating a family - complete with children - and was completely devastated when she woke up and it all vanished.

I've never had anything that extreme, but for me it's not unusual for extremely long dreams to take place in just a few hours of sleep.

Who has experienced such cases?

I've had dreams that were a few days of stuff going on. I've also had a few where it jumps around in time, in that odd way that seems normal in the dream, but is completely illogical in reality.

My wife has these dreams. She explains them to me and she remembers every detail. We'll be waking up together in the morning, I'll get up, then 30m later she's up after dozing off. She'll explain to me this dream she had in 30m. Its like three days of events. Weird.

l'll nod off for a few seconds, and have a full narrative dream.
My theory is- you're not living it sequentially like a movie, but rather stitching it together out of concept fragments already in your head. Like speed-reading comicbook panels vs a novel.

It only becomes a sequential flow when you remember it after waking, and try to make a narrative that fits how we experience time.

I haven't had a long time span dream. I have had a few dreams that were like real life but I determined that I was dreaming and acted accordingly. It's been many years ago and it was only a few times. Has anyone else experienced that?

I’ve had days if not weeks worth of activity during a dream in less than an hour of sleep. I’ve also had a handful of times I’ve known I was dreaming and had some fun with that

Sleep is a fascinating subject. Currently reading a book on it and it’s amazing what is still not yet understood

Yup pretty much always can tell when I'm dreaming. They call it lucid dreams you can look it up.

You should watch Inception.

The ones I hate is going back in time. Like when you wake up it is like, dang I am glad I am not working there anymore or I am glad I am not married to her anymore. LOL

But yes, in those dreams I tend to interact with those people for hours, days, at a time. These dreams seem to happen most off between the snooze alarm in the morning.

Speaking of inception. I remember one dream, dreamt I sold my car I had, woke up thinking I sure am glad that was a dream and I didn't sell the car, then waking up for real and realizing I did sell the car. LOL Weird stuff.

Happens all the time for me.. thought everyone was like that?

Last year or so I’ve been having weird dreams.. not nightmares, just weird or stressful.. been blaming it on otc pain meds but haven’t been able to track a pattern

Woke up, had a smoke, coffee, brushed teeth, showered, got dressed, got in truck... Woke up back in bed halfway to work. Not a single thing out of the ordinary in the dream. I was SO confused.

I can't remember any dreams last longer than a day, but I do have a tendency to dream in foreign languages that I do not speak nor understand. At least I assume they're foreign languages and not just unintelligible gibberish. I'm thinking in English in the dream but others around me are rattling off something else entirely.

Could very well be. My oldest son would have nightmares every time he had pepperoni pizza.

I remember a very vivid dream where I was 10 years old on a very long bus ride. It felt like the trip took all day, 6 plus hours. The boredom was painful.

Then the dentist woke me up with smelling salts. I had passed out getting my wisdom teeth pulled and was out for 90 seconds. I was in my early 20's at the time.

often from work days in a few hours to a week in a night. Figured it was same as anyone else. Did get the point where could control more of the odd dreams, like being chased through abandoned malls and running it more like a video game with finding loot in various areas.

How about dying in your dreams?

Happens to me a few times a year

I get attacked by animals. Been eaten by a bear, a croc, and ghost zombies on different occasions.

Also saved my wife from an arachnophobia style spider attack, woke up "smashing spiders that were crawling on her" lol

I used to dream like that all the time, like a couple times a month minimum then I got into the nasty habit of collecting TBIs and concussions left and right and between them my awful drinking problem and the weed I barely dream anymore. I miss those super epic dreams, after the last bunch of years I'm actually hoping the ****show I am currently living in is actually one of those off shoot dreams and I'm going to wake up in 2008 before I met the ex-Mrs.

I can do it. I also can't die in my dreams and I can pretty much go into sleep paralysis at will

There is a weird phrase in a language that I don't understand that comes into dreams before **** goes sideways in my life. It's consistent.

As to the time compression thing, I heard about the specific one in the OP on Rogan, but I've also had, and known some other people who experienced it from salvia trips. Terrible feelings. Time distortion/planes of reality/sleep....weird stuff.

This. Sometimes it's 2000 again. I can feel the ex there next to me. I can hear her laugh. Then I wake up and it's the current fat bitch. Not a great way to start off the day.

I often have a recurring dream where I'm back in middle and/or high school and can't find the classroom. Don't know what that's about but it's a relief to wake up.

Any death dream always involves a plane crash as a passenger. I am a pilot so that's probably a fear of not being in control.

Another one I sometimes get....someone has broken into my house but I can't load or figure out how to fire my gun.

I also used to have a touch of premonition and would dream about **** that hadn't happened yet a couple times a year. Started as a kid in 4th grade I can still remember the dream, another one a year later about the crusty neighbor lady across the street. I can still vividly remember my first two nightmares from youth involving a gigantic river rat and the next about climbing up an open railroad trestle sort of like in the movie Annie. Wild ****.

I don’t know why but…. Did DMT once and had your average experience. My dreams stopped for about 5 years. When they came back they were all very specifically about communicating with dead relatives or they were about the times I’ve gotten my heart broken in breakups in the past. My therapist says that is how I am processing trauma or pain or whatever.
