Don't we have a "bitch about idiots on CL or Marketplace" thread?

I had a bench seat up for sale. Get a guy begging me to hold it, offering a deposit ect. I tell him give me cash when he picks it up. I did not want to dish out my number for zelle like he wanted. He then stop messaging me.

Was kinda sketchy since the ad had been up a month and it was a ratty old seat. Dude was way too desperate for it.

You say that but I have given a guy $200 cash in hand face to face to hold a truck for me, driven 3 hours round trip just to get there and truck be gone because someone stopped and gave him more than he was asking so he gave me the money back. Then I had to still turn around and drive the 1.5hrs home again. If I had any money in bank or in my cash app I would have offered to do a deposit but I don't so I let the guy know I had cash and set up a time to get it. If he is willing to go back on his word a few hours after giving it I wouldn't want to send him money anyhow.
Oh...no doubt there are pieces of **** in this world. I do believe however, that **** comes back to them. Hopefully something happened and it cost him more than the extra money he got.

A rock through a window would probably be understandable too.

I had success again with CL. Sold an early Bronco that needed help, alot of it. Got at least one local guy pulling the $1500 cash low-ball. I had a couple of guys who probably would buy something but distance and other priorities got in the way.

However, a serious guy drove 6 hours and spent the night at a local hotel to purchase it the next day. No baloney, paid cash easy. It seems like CL for me gets more serious buyers and FB gets a lot of eyes etc. This is with bigger items.

Smaller stuff FB is decent and somewhat regular. I live so far away from people that they usually come through because it requires commitment.

I actually shipped a part the other day to a guy from norcal without pre-pay. It was just easy. I guess I risked 25 bucks on shipping but it worked out.

Now to just sell a bike and I would be good.

2 down bunch to go. Still have all the seats from the first one.

I asked the scrapyard if they’d take them they said Yep!
how much you gonna pay?
nothing
what if I set them on fire first? :lmao:
then we’ll report you to the agencies.

****em if they can’t take a joke.

Build a little stand for each of them. I picked up some that I’m gonna recreate the top gear set seats with.

My favorite shop chair was a bronco two bucket bolted to classroom chair legs.

Tue when I head that way I’m dropping off two more to the same guy, of course he wants two with the grab handle

I'd go off on them if they said that ****. You're in the ****ing scrap industry. Your entire business only exists based on the bureaucrats willingness to be reasonable when enforcing their non-law rules.

I know...it's an awful big ask I guess.

Had personal experience with this today as well. My wife went to go check out this for me:

Talked to a dude on the phone about it first. Asked about what rust I couldn't see in the photos, what the deal is with the rear doors, and ***le status. Dude says there's "a little" rust, the doors close fine, and it has a ***le. Eventually got them to cop to the ***le not being in their name but it's been signed. I feel like some details were left out of the description...

Advertising master class: When posting a vehicle ad, NEVER show any other part of the vehicle other than what will be hidden behind whatever cargo bed or box that might get put on. And never take a picture closer than 50 feet for any reason.

It's $750 with 4 different tires on the rear. I would expect anyone interested to show up with a flatbed knowing it has sat for the last 3 years.

You can't figure out the 2004 F150 with a new motor has more than 20,000 miles?
I’m not shopping for 2004’s. It’ll be a 2022 listed as 25k miles. Then you only find out that it has 245k miles on everything but the engine that got installed 4 months ago after you click the add. Thats a bait n switch clickbait bull**** ad tactic

that POS is worth $500 no matter what's under the hood.

But in mouth breather ad writing more often than not that's 20k mi on the 'new' motor (that had 89k on it before it was wrecked) so its 110k on the motor ( in the 250k mi chassis) and still inaccurate/misleading as ****.

I mean, I’m not looking for BaT level advertising, but come on. That ad is worthless for anyone that might actually have any use for the thing. Dude clearly just wants it gone, so why not help your own cause?

Buying long bed trucks, cutting them down to short beds and selling them for a profit was a thing.
This was about the only thing I could think of that would make some idiot brag about a "true" shortbed.

It doesn't really make it more valuable though, so it just begs the question of why ****ing bother listing it that way like it's some kind of selling point

Helpful listing lady. I did message her and she did send me a pic of the PN but why wouldn't you put that in the original listing?

Don’t even get me ****ing started on this.

The people that literally take one pic of a car for sale and then write “Message me for questions.”

No you ****ing idiot I’m not gonna chit-chat with you just to find out that it’s got 350k miles, a salvage ***le (or no ***le at all) and starts with a screwdriver. Also 3k in back fees.

You’re selling something potentially worth thousands of dollars, and your time is worth so little that you actually want people to “message you with any questions” you can’t be bothered to even put in the basic details? Not interested.
