I wonder how many of these guys fall off during a race.

Buddy of mine did a hundred mile stint as the monkey for a guy doing the Baja 1000 on one. Said it was way harder than riding. It looked similar to the MX ones but with a 700 2 stroke.

Nope, Joe's down for adventure.Thats the "I lost a bet so here I am" seat.![]()

Damnbut with a 700 2 stroke.
Sounds like fun. I'd work for him.Back in the day when I was doing pile installation monitoring, we worked with a contractor owned by an old dude who had driven pile for ever. His equipment was notoriously worn out and it was common to find him on the ladder welded to the side of the hammer squirting diesel into the hammer while it was running because the rings were worn and the pump was broken. Dude was nutz.
As an aside, he always drove brand new caddies and mercedes sedans. Trunks were full of greasy equipment and often overloaded. He parked in the worst spots and many a time his car got crushed by mobile equipment. Always showed up next day in another brand new sedan with a load of greasy tools in the trunk.

I have a couple of Dawson diesel hammers at the shop. They are cool as ****
How does one wash 10lbs of feces out of a leather race suit?
You don't. You burn the suit, take a shower and put on the spare.
That's when he was in Moto 2. Right now he's recovering from a fractured collarbone and neck suffered in a terrible crash in Barcelona. Lucky it wasn't a hell of a lot worse actually.
