Body shop or DIY?

Just talked with the insurance agent and he tells me my uninsured motorist coverage will cover my deductible. So no out of pocket cost to me. I'm skeptical. This doesn't really match what he said the first time I talked to him but we will see

Insurance agents have no idea how to handle a claim. He has no idea what he's talking about.

This happened to me when my truck got side swiped in a parking lot by a chick high on heroin driving her boyfriend's truck uninsured.

I paid nothing. They towed it and everything. On top, they pushed HARD on offering me a rental while it was getting fixed. Wife and I were looking for a small suv so we rented some jeep thing that was garbage. Should have just gone with the most expensive ride they had.

Either way, I paid nothing and no hit to my rates either.

Im aware. I work as a ford wholesale manager. That said im sitting on 6 of them right now.....
I guessed you were aware of the BO issues. I was just stating for the rest of the class the reason the yards are asking so much money for them...a few months ago, they were getting it.

This is where I am at now. Not worth suing her but going to at least try and get some money out of her even though I am sure I am wasting my time.
If she's driving around uninsured and costing people like you money, it would be in the best interest of your community if the car suddenly stopped running....or just disappeared altogether.

He's the guy from the insurance company that is managing the claim?

The agent or the claim handler? Agents are useless, claim handlers aren't much better. Who are you insured with?

If your claim handler is telling you the deductible is going to be waived on an uninsured motorist claim, get it in writing.

Thats exactly what uninsured motorist insurance is for. To cover the gaps from your insurance co.

Actually read my policy and confirmed I have coverage for up to 10k in damage from an uninsured driver at no cost to me. Getting an estimate tomorrow from a ford certified repair shop.

Meanwhile is poor land, I am building custom headlights for $200 total investment. :lmao:

But for same price as a pair of ford f150 headlights you can buy an s475 and a Everlast 200 amp tigwelder. :flipoff2:

If it was older, I would remove the fender and straighten it myself the best I could, but on a 2 yr old vehicle I would want it fixed properly. Sucks.

Estimate came back at $3,000

That's ford oem parts from a ford certified body shop.

New fender, paint, buffing the bumper, repairing a small paint chip on the edge of the door and calibrating all the sensors.

Because they will screw you over and then drop you at renewal. Also there is a chance it will be less than the deductible
I don't know what kind of driving record people have, but this doesn't seem like what happens for normal people.

My step son got hit hard by an underinsured person. Their insurance covered the car and paid the 25k pretty quick and my insurance picked up 100k on the under insured. We haven't gotten the boot and the rates stayed the same after a year

Did you get a police report? Can't the insurance go after them?
I got her pics of her. Her driver license. The cars. Plates and vin number. She gave me her number. I called it and made sure her phone rang. I wasn’t waiting around two hours for a squad to show up and write a report.

Insurance company asked if there was a police report. I said no. They said ok.

If she doesn't have insurance she already has a new phone number. Who knows if the address was even good.

Back in the day it was 300 a panel. I would buy a same color fwnder and slap it on. I wouldn't care about color variance...because everyone that knows how to do body repair will notice its been painted.

Those mobile repair guys have got real good, especially with aluminum that loves to be beat with dead blow hammers and heat.

My sis has a new bronco raptor. Door got ****ed up on the highway. You can not even see a ripple or scuff. But it wasn't a crease like that.

In Pennsylvania , police will NOT write a police report unless someone leaves in a ambulance.

I tried to get a police report last 2 times I got hit by someone. No bueno. But the time I got sideswiped by a heavy set colored girl, and I told her to get ****ed when she wanted me info. State police called me back, after I called them and asked for a trooper to come out and write and report , they said no.

Well they called me back and said they will come arrest me if I dont give her my info. I said, well I will think about it, trooper starts yelling at me on the phone. I am like well you guys wont write a report, so like I said I will think about sharing my info with that bitch.

Since they wouldnt write a report, and there was no witnesses or cameras I did not want her to make some **** up and me be found at fault. So I cooled down, exchanged info. And immediately gave her insurance my story, and then did the same with my insurance.

She was found at fault, and her car needed work from front door to rear bumper on left side. She was not in front of me, and just drove right into my lane and almost shoved me right into center jersey barrier. I am lucky I didnt end up barrel rolling down highway.

But only thing that happened was the sidewall of my right front tire was all shined up by rubbing down the side of a toyota.
