Prayers or just good thoughts if you have them.

I T- boned someone just like OP about 6 months into street riding when I was 21 or 22, so yea VERY common story. These types of accidents are generally preventable, and mine was a life long lesson for sure. Basically dont go faster than you can stop for people pulling out of driveways, intersections, etc. Harley brakes suck, so that definitely needs to be factored in.
The one I brought up was common story for that area and not just happened to motorcycles. Bad/blind alley that people california stopped to get on the main street :shaking: I just looked at the intersection again and it wasn't as "blind" as I recall but people would get a "running start" to get on the main street. This was early 90s before cellphones or the like so less distracted driving compared to now.

By the same token, I've had more bikers in my area have to do death wobble stand up because they thought they were owed my lane:shaking: This is with me already driving within a foot of the right white line. My area is also cars going into the wrong lane because they think they are on a closed course and drive like ****.:shaking:

To OP, I hope your nephew heals well and fully. I also hope he doesn't get too gun shy over bikes.

Does he have a sister named Andrea Nxxxx?

If it's the crash I'm looking at, it took place at Mono Way/Cordelia around 5pm and ended up not just a simple pull out in front of, but apparently more of a head on between his bike and a black Honda. I guess he went to hospital by ambulance and then got airlifted out of there to a trauma center elsewhere.

Sucks to hear it. Keep thoughts positive while he's in surgery. One step at a time, may God guide the surgeon's hands...

But Im hoping its not the accident I am finding.

Prayers

Prayers for your nephew. Hopefully he doesn’t loose a leg and spends the rest of his days hot linking Fox News articles and random YouTube AI clickbait videos. :flipoff2:
We cant have another one.

Sucks to hear OP! Bikes are not for me, for many reasons. Too old to recover from wrecks and **** these days.

Even a small tumble takes time to recover from. Don't let it stop you from enjoying things.

I am seeing a lot of MTB injuries, as well as dirt bike riders pushing the envelope and crashing out hard.

OPs nephew likely went for a relaxing ride to clear his head, very few things give you that feeling like an open road and a bike does.

Sadly far too many out there are just mentally checked out when driving cages...

Thank you.

He's awake ish today, bleeding has been stopped. Tomorrow they're going to address his hip. Then his leg in a couple/few days.

He's a very good kid (33, lol) Has his own tile company, married to a good woman.
Good to hear. I got people in that area so if anything is needed, post up.

I appreciate that and so do they.
Big chunk of my family still live in Twain Harte, Sonora, Angels Camp and all that so they don't physically need anything.
Good to hear. Beautiful area up there.
Glad he's doing alright and wish him good luck in recovery and getting back to 100%.

Man, that's horrible. One more praying for him and his family.

I just talked to him, spirits are up. Not trying to think about **** he can't control.

He's the son I never had and always has been like me in too many ways. However, getting hurt is NOT one of them. He's never had a broken bone or stitches.

So I said, this is a new kind of pain huh ?
He said if it wasn't for the morphine he'd be fooked.

He also said to say thank you for the thoughts and prayers.

Have a link to that ? I didn't see it.

Yep, a left turn cager got me when I was 39 . 28 years and spinal cord damage later I'm still kicking.
Morphine is your friend when you really need relief from pain.
Best wishes for your nephew and his family. He will need a lot of support, additude about recovery is everything.
Tell him work rehab to his best ability.
Prayers work
