Finally got me a CK torch to replace the Tweco that came with my ESAB. Just need to rig up a momentary button for it.

My machine is lift tig - touch electrode to metal, press switch, lift and go. Don't need amp control. Wondering if you guys know of any appropriate buttons that I can attach to my torch. Simple button, nothing pushing the $300 price tag.

I have to do some digging on mine, but it controls arc start and the amps.

My lift arc doesn't even have a switch, just don't let the tungsten touch anything while you aren't welding.

CK torch didn't include a finger switch?

Prices are ****less for those things.

What is the connector on the ESAB?

Nah. All their torches I found had one or the other - finger switch or gas valve integrated.

I ordered the flat momentary switch. Gonna see if I like it. Stupid expensive for what they are. Comes wired with the 8-pin end, so if needed, I can wire in a better switch latter.

ESAB uses an 8-pin connector that appears to be Amphenol, but I haven't been able to ID the exact part yet.

this is the best i could find for ya, no idea if its the right one or not
Looks correct. I was avoiding that one just because of how bulky the switch is. Hoping to find something small. The Tweco handle was always rather cumbersome.

Guess I'll call them tomorrow. No idea what this is for unless I gotta pay a tarrif.

Code you code one of these arduino development boards to pulse the input? I have an older miller econotig, curious if you could rig up something like that remote switch to start and have it cycle 20% to 60%. I have a project with aluminum coming up. Need to make another project before starting that project

Edit: yes you can. This thread made me think of a pulser, wondered if it was possible and yeah, holy ****, you certainly can do it. And fairly cheap too

Don't have a need or want to at the moment. If/when I do - Jattus has been making the pulse controller for them for several years TIG Perfect 2.0 - Pulsing Add-on For Welders — Jattus
