Inner tube hot patches

Anyone know where to get hot patches for inner tubes anymore? I see "vintage" listings on eBay, but I'd like to find new ones. I used to buy them at Napa.

I used to use them all the time on my bike when I was a kid. Patched a bunch of aircraft tubes with them with never a single failure. I used up my stash and now I have none.

My track record with glue on patches has been less than stellar. I have no confidence in them for my airplane, so I'm stuck buying new tubes that have gotten stupid expensive.

You landing in scrap yards and the back corner of home depot where the snow gets plowed?

Didn't figure puncture flats would be real common on plane.

no, but I've landed in plenty of random pastures in eastern colorado, and run across plenty of goatherds. It's usually the tailwheel that gets the punctures, but occasionally the mains get them too.

A little but of digging has yielded rumors that hot patches were banned in the US by some government entity that hates **** that works.

Si, "due to enviromental and employee health conserns".......

Check out the Vipal line, I highly recommend them for tubes. You can buy 65 of them for ~$10 british. Shipping will be stupid though.

I have not found hot patches in years.

What I have found that works well is to buy good USA made patches. They can be harder to find but spend the money and get them.(Buy mine at the local parts store. Not national chain either) Then clean your tire/tube like always. THEN take an electric heat gun and warm the tire/tube up. Make it almost too hot to touch. Apply the glue warm it up some. Then roll the patch one with a good roller. Heat the finished patch until hot to touch. Let cool. I have not had a patch come off since I started doing them this way.
