Useless things about your day!

Ok, I have procrastinated enough. Going to lift the truck...
My old ass worked under my truck like this the last few nights. It absolutely sucks but the end result was worth it. Get your ass outside and #quityourbitchin. :flipoff2:

I’m still sorta in the market to buy a home. I’m really looking for something with zero greenery to keep alive. If by some misfortune I end up buying something with grass. It’s 100% getting killed and replaced with rock.

I’m over at my GF house helping her prep the ground to grow grass. :homer: Only reason I’m here is because it’s a free workout and I’m not spending any money. I hope I can say I’ve mowed my last lawn.

I can only dream of the day I don't have to mow. It's that time of year here, if it's light enough, somebody within hearing distance is mowing.

I was looking into getting a Savage Model 24 combination gun. This one is too pretty and rare (.357mag/20ga), and is going for way too much money for me to even consider.

This one is ugly, 1995 production date, and in fantastic condition. It's also .223Rem/12ga, which would be an ideal combo for me because I wouldn't have to buy any new ammo. It must be a rare combo because it's already over the $600 limit I set for myself.

I guess there's more interested parties than in these goofy combo guns than I thought. I thought it would be a good "walk around the property gun" for snakes and coyotes. I'll pass.

My lawn! PO put in real grass because his wife wanted a lawn, but with no fencing across the front or rear of the property, packs of Javelina would come and tear up the grass trying to get bugs. When Jodi (Soundguy from the old place) was out here for a job we did together, he was amazed by the idea that a lot of places in AZ have no lawn, I could see the jealousy in his eyes.

No lawn planned at my Arizona house. Weed control is becoming an issue with me not being there and no traffic on the driveway. I'll have to get/build a drag to pull around. The rest of the property I'm planning on leaving alone, aside from a small pine tree grove along the south property line.

My smith just made a Master Key similar to pic. He thinks it's super awesome, I think it's uglier than a mud fence.

Preemergent herbicides are your friend. Twice a year does the trick.

I couldn't imagine living in a place with no greenery or grass and just dirt and dust. Yuck!

I mow about 2 acres of lawn every 3-4 days in the spring and fall. It takes a little over an hour with the big ass ZT I bought a few years ago. Its therapeutic... Pour yourself a nice cold drink, pop in ear buds and jam out to your favorite tunes.

I have been watching everyone that comes up on GB site. They all go for 600 to 700!
I keep wondering if you could buy a 12 guage over under the use the upper barrel as a sleeve foe a rifle barrel?

I got "depressed" driving from eastern wa into Colorado down to New Mexico. Too much brown. ****s cool down there but I dont wanna love there.

Driving from East texas west, the depression kicks in around Abilene. Once you hit Big Spring you start wondering why you aren't turning around. The desert is a cool place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

The most common of the Model 24 are .22lr/410 or 20 ga. The next most common is .222 Rem/20ga. If one of the .222Rem/20ga came up cheap enough, it could be reamed to .223Rem, making it a relatively inexpensive shooter.

I bought a ratty broken stock spray panted black 22/410. Still under the bed waiting for me to see if I can clean up.

The new model 42's are just plain ugly, retail for over $600, and are only. 22lr/410ga

Edit: for a few hundred more than that .357 Savage is up to, you could get this Tikka. Makes no sense.

I would love to live out west, id plant a pine tree and keep it watered and that would be good enough year round greenness.

Here, my dream is woods all the way up to the house and shop with zero yard.

Right up until the straight line winds or a tornado piles all those trees on top of your stuff.

[knock on wood] Dont get tornadoes, they go north or south of us, some weird low spot between 2 rivers running west-east. I don't know what straight line wind is. I can go outside right now and toss a handful of flour up in the air and this time tomorrow it will be clouding over my neighbors house. :flipoff2:

But im ok with trees destroying my home if it means I got even just a few years of 100% shaded yard.

If I could justify spending a couple million I'd buy an old factory building and just park a real nice double wide inside it.

Walk out the front door and you're in your shop. Plenty of indoor parking. Plenty of outdoor parking. No lawnmower, just weed burner and sprayer.

Shade and lower AC costs. I get it, but I lean the other way. I want two tree heights of buffer between trees and buildings. I'm not sure which way's better.

Do you water that 2 acres to get it green? Or does it just be green? If I had 2acres that grew without my input I’d have a few cows on it. Then I’d eat them.

My last place in Colorado. Didn’t water it and got up to 250 bales a year of alfalfa hay off it. I would happily mow that (with a tractor) the rest of my life. If I have to water it to make it happen, I’m out. GF paid $7500 for a water well just to have water to water grass with. That is a lot of work and money for more work later.
