Interesting Craigslist finds

I got a buddy that dove into a pool in high school and broke his back. he drives a 00's vette with twin turbo on it. all with hand controls. its fun to ride with him!

Our Corvette GT3 racecar is set-up with hand controls, our driver was paralyzed waist down in an Indy car wreck in ~2017.

Top lever brakes, bottom lever throttle. Upper paddle down shift, lower tiny paddle is clutch, but only for auto-clutch failures.

All the controls are drive by wire, including the brakes. All done with factory support by Bosch Motorsports. There is an emergency mechanical hand brake lever. Pretty neat stuff.

Yeah my friend used to drive really fast everywhere

He got a few tickets , couple times for over a hundred

He got nabbed in my 71 trans am for 126 on a interstate ,

Only reason they didn’t take him to jail was they didn’t wanna deal with taking a guy with no legs to jail .

He had some portable hand controls he used , they clamped to the gas and brake and had a ratchet strap around the steering column .


And I’ve seen him duct tape one of his canes to the gas pedal and one to the brake pedal to drive someone’s car

He has artificial legs but never wears them ,
Has a big skateboard he scoots around on if he’s going very far .

Dude is like a monkey , he can hop from the floor to his kitchen counter and make a sandwich ,
 
My grandpa lost his left leg below the knee. He bent a rod so he bolted on to the clutch peddle on his 56 chevy pickup. He would step on the clutch with his right leg, stick his arm through the steering wheel hold down the clutch shift the gear give the 6 banger gas as he let the clutch back out. We offered to put in an auto and he said no thank I don't need it
 
All the hand controls on my brother's stuff had warning labels that they could only be installed to automatic vehicles with power steering and brakes. I wonder how many people actually follow that rule.

If its been over a week, I assume its no good. If I'm targeting a specific item, I put ad listed in 24h.

edit: I asked where it was, he said Plaistow. asked what makes it no road worthy. no start, not go into gear...

20 people interested, been up for two weeks.

I mean, does it not start? Not go into gear? Fire off two cylinders? Just says "no"?

Waste of time. I don't understand what the purpose of that is. Just post something and string people along all day in messenger?

A buddy saw this ad and sent it to me. I did a frame off restoration on this truck and owned it for 19 years. I converted it to Toyota disc brakes in front and put all Old Man Emu suspension on it. It runs like a sewing machine. I sold it to this guy at the Houston Mecum auction last April. I let Vintage Air use this truck twice to develop their previous Gen IV and current Gen V A/C system for Land Cruisers. So basically all of their installation photos for Land Cruisers are this truck. I know, cool story bro.

Maybe why he's got it listed so low he just wants it gone, no questions asked, come and get it.
Could be a great deal he's just tired of dealing with it.

Like others have said I have scored some good stuff as well from terrible sellers. IT could be worth a visit.

I've looked a vehicle that had a bad ground and did not start I fixed in after buying it and drove away happy and shocked the seller. Also swapped a relay from the AC to the fuel pump circuit and drove it away on a truck that just stopped running. .Just saying a little knowledge can go far and score some great deals! How far away from you is it?
