Random stuff you made.

They mount direct to the old bulb socket, so that ensures your vertical and horizontal direction should be good.

I did level the cutoff line a bit, but you can do that from behind by turning the washer with some channelocks. The washer is keyed to the projector so turns the projector when you turn it.

This project was mostly a proof of concept experiment, which was a success. Now I am addicted to building headlights, so going to order a set of 3" projector lenses to swap into a different set of 2nd gen housings. The 3" projector should be a level up in light output over the 2.5s, which are excellent to begin with.

Also wondering if you couldnt fit dual projectors in a set of sport headlight housings. Having 4 55w HIDs burning would be badass for night driving on rural roads.

Would set it up so low beam is 2 bulbs, and high flips shield on 2 lo bulbs and kicks on other 2 bulbs.
light parts source?

5 years ago the council septic inspector told me he wouldn't pass the 50 year old concrete lids on my tank next time because gaps where bugs could get in.
Went full ****** and threw a heap of steel at making replacements.
He's due back in a month or so. **** than guy.

Stupid little victory, but I was tired of angle grinder wheels floating all over the garage. My daughter helped me make this rack to hang them all on. I even have enough to separate and label the various flap disc grits.

While we were at it we hung up my welding and grinding helmets.

It doesn't take much organization to feel like you got some **** done.

It's zinc annealed plate coated in 2-pack polyurethane (the good, birth defect and cancer causing stuff is still readily available here).
Should outlast me easily.
Why isn't a fat line of caulking or butyl tape (or some equivalent that'll tolerate sewer gas) an appropriate solution to these idiots?

Why can't you lay down some grout with a couple layers of plastic on top (so the lid doesn't stick) for a "perfect" seal?

I guess you did make a nice replacement lid tho.

You answered your own question hoss.

Australia implemented a firearm ban and mandatory confiscation in 1996 pursuant to the National Firearms Agreement, in which nearly 700,000 privately-owned firearms were turned in to the government and destroyed.

And now there is roughly 1 million more than there was after the 1996 buyback.
While I find it hilarious that they are losing their minds over these numbers lately I'm not sure what the connection is?
Am I supposed to shoot the septic guy? I'm not going to shoot the septic guy.

A pipe to the back of the head and a close inspection of the tank is an appropriate solution to these idiots.

Am I supposed to shoot the septic guy? I'm not going to shoot the septic guy.

/sigh/ Nevermind.

What kind of grinding helmet is that? Does it have a built in respirator?
I bought this kit. I haven't used it with the respirator yet.

Did some night driving and the light output is awesome.

Lights up road signs on a 2 lane, way before the car in front of me does. Zero glare or light above the cut off line, very polite to oncoming traffic.

Now that I have legit properly set up projectors, I really notice all the vehicles with leds or hids thrown in a normal reflector housing that blind the **** out of me.

Also made a bird feeder pole/hanger out of some scrap. Little things sometimes that make you smile.

Random fiddly little chingadera nobody will ever see now that it's done:

Cut an eyeballed length of 1/2" wide aluminum, softened the edges, tweaked 2 3/8" long wings up a smidge, and drilled 2 3/16" holes.

That holds up an Ivory pump soap bottle w/ its top cut off, making a holder for 1/4" wood dowels on this door face:

Side note: door has a stapled skirt of indoor/outdoor carpet to keep grinder dust out of shelf contents near the vise.

Dumbbell stand.
I was tired of picking them up off the floor for each workout. A brand name one is $200+. Used they're $75-100. Amazon is $60-140. Some guy locally irritates me trying to buy one from him so I decided to make one up.

The Internet says dumbbell racks are sloped 10 degrees. I had a folding table that seemed to be okay for height but I wanted it slightly lower. So I do some math I haven't used for over a decade, make sure the saw is cutting a 10 degree angle, and make the rest up as I go along.

Rough draft for a top.

I used #6 1 5/8 drywall screws to secure the dumbbell base to the top. I split them in half and marked the holes. I decided to make the top all one length.

You couldn't tell by the finished product, but I spent way too much time on a Sunday night building this. About as much time as someone spends watching sports.

The boy built some ladder rungs for the wall. The actual ladder can’t pass through the hole because it gets closed with some plywood for winter.
Used the induction heater to preheat the rebar to reduce cracking (never had an issue before, but I really don't want these to break).

Much safer.
