Ruffstuff the new ballistic?

Cheap prices, low profit margins and basing your earnings on volume in a niche market that is dying a slow death is a recipe for long term disaster. Thats what RS is going through right now. The home plasma table, cheap design programs, and places like SCS are killing the market. Who wants universal builder parts when you can spend a day or two designing exactly what you need on a computer and recieve the parts cut and ready to weld in a week? It sure beats spending hours modifying off the shelf tabs and brackets to suite a custom build.

Hey I bought a bunch of shave kits at 50% off in that sale for axles and projects I don’t have yet.

The last project I needed 4 link and 3 link brackets and priced everything out and it was 1/2 what a plasma table was going to be. I almost pulled the trigger but didn’t have the space at the time.

I email RuffStuff about it and why I received it back. "its Unit 200".....No added word. No nothing...the initial address they emailed me didn't state that.
Shame on me for not verifying.
Soooo UPS hit me with a return fee....and then the same fee a third time to ship it BACK to RuffStuff AGAIN.
I ****in hate them.

I don’t know how to design **** on a computer but modifying brackets is easy peasy and much quicker for my needs.

Listen, I’m not here to argue the viability of long term business models, the guy wanted good, cheap brackets that will ship quick

Hope the new owner makes **** right. I'm only out several hundred bucks, way less than a lot of customers probably, but its the principle of the whole thing. Trying to be patient and hope they pull outta the hole their in.

I think I am just going to make a free site where you can just upload/download basic bracket and tab designs. So that you can just download what you want, walk it to one of your buddies that has a plasma table (or use something like sendcutsend). I probably have 30 different gussets drawn up in my 3d fusion account ready to go.

Got to Barnes or anyone else. Best case scenario is they will call you back to get you money, then you can spend months trying to get a simple response or parts.

we have a CAD library right here on the forum CAD Library. I also stumbled across this recently DIY Offroad – Download. Cut. Shred.
 
I wasn't in the market for a new axle housing, but if it also comes with $2750... maybe I should order a couple. :flipoff2:

Ordered some items from Barnes4wd Monday midday, items are sitting on my doorstep today. Just paid the standard shipping for everything. Hard to beat that.
 
Same on Barnes. Ordered Monday morning, at my doorstep yesterday, and we are on opposite sides of the country.

Their shipping rates piss me off but nothing seems cheap to ship anymore

hell, I remember not paying taxes on out of state online orders AND those super cheap shipping rates.

That's still common in certain industries. Iirc businesses can opt to only collect their state tax and it shifts the burden on to the consumer to report the sale. With online gun/ammo sales that's still super common. I've only paid taxes on a very small portion of my gun and ammo purchases.

My return package was delivered to their doorstep on the 28th of last month.....havent seen a refund....
 
Boss says they’re closing up?

they cancelled our 3 month old unfulfilled order and refunded
