New Ford Duallys are 6+ months out?

It's all fair points.

The guy I am talking about doesn't do machine sales only repairs. He gets a % of the total customer spend via parts/service.
Same for rebuilds/repairs he sells. There is a lot of ways to make money in this particular role.

You are trading time for money, and money for time in most forms of careers.

I was eye balling a new F250 .. but I'll think I'll keep my 18 Ram a bit longer looking at all this new computer bull****.
I saw that, and thought gee I'm glad that my '15 Ram doesn't have that capability. I've been ignoring the 67A recall notices for quite some time now, and plan to continue to do so.

They keep pinging me on that one also, but mine deleted so ...

If you don't want computer bull**** but fine with your 18 you should probably find the lowest mileage 18 and put it in storage. The computers aren't going away.
Mine has 35k on it, so it’s probably one of the lowest mileage ones out there.

Pretty sure they’ve been doing the update wirelessly crap for a while, pre covid of if Im remembering correctly. On the older trucks you can opt out of it, I’m sure the dealer updates the computer whenever you’re there.

So they just push "updates" to these overpriced ****boxes, dont even need to go to a dealer?

Huh....they are taking this "you own the hardware, you are licensed to use the software" thing to the ****in limit...
yup...but you can turn them off, at least you can in my wife's 22 with the new ****tier operating system

I did the same on my 18.

then the check engine light came on due to bad cat. So did the update, got the 48month warranty, and got all new everything....
Delete is in the future, most likely.
Anyhow.... saved 4k in parts plust another hunk in labor

now to deal with the twice as much cat pee consumption

Went by local dealer yesterday (Ken Wilson in Canton). They had most of their SD inventory unlocked so we could look all around and sit in different trim levels. I'm kinda looking at high end XLT 450s.
We saw a lot of Lariat, Ultimate Lariat and even King Ranch with rubber floor mats (no carpet).
Really, I kinda like that for cleaning sake

One of my customers has a new F550 flat bed company truck with a rubber floor and leather seats. I thought it was a pretty cool idea for cleaning out a truck that spends 70% of its life on a construction site.

It's been an option for years... "carpet delete" or something.
We always ordered them that way for my Dad, father in law etc.
Saved you $99 on a mid 2000's super dookie but now it costs you $125 I think.

its a moot point I think because I would still run a "catch basin" type floor mat so that **** isn't accumulating in the rockers.
Would keep the floor overall nicer but I worried about noise and resale so I just get the carpet...

Pretty sure they put a different vinyl floor in the higher trims than in the poverty model. At least on the aluminum bodies.

Carpet in a truck has always baffled me, especially considering the business built on selling floor mats that cover up as much of it as possible.
