Ruffstuff the new ballistic?

Just curious, do they in house fab sheet metal parts or do they sub it out?
Supposedly they were waiting on the xj battery tray to be shipped in. A “big order” so those are not done in house. Same with tube discos. As for other stuff, idk for sure.

Add yota shop to list of awesome as well. You are absolutely correct. All pro got way better since tg bought them out too. Anymore tg is always 1st look/order
IDK what the deal is, but same parts different vendor, Yotamasters Treats me better, even if I know they are drop shipping TG parts. I either always get someone on the phone or they answer my email same day, And when I'm making a desert trip If parts are in stock I save shipping with a drive by.

I'll quote that,

We've all seen what we thought were great vendors come and go.

Yup. I can name several that were "big names" that made nice stuff back in the PBB days that are nothing but memories now. Hell, half the hardcore offroad fab shops closed down across the country and the other half saw the writing on the wall and are now full fledged bolt on Jeep/Bronco "upfitters"

I see very few young people building hard core wheeling rigs or buggies these days but a lot of them throwing ******ed money at Jeep and Bronco bolt on everything thinking its the ultimate offroad rig.

I know they’re not the majority, but all of the “runs prime racing” instagram kids are pretty young and straight up beat the **** out of their rigs.

A lot of millenial and younger folks grew up with dads that didn't know how to do ****. They weren't turned loose with power tools, there was no welder in the garage etc... ****ers didn't even take their bicycles apart.

Just had this conversation, at 12 I was dragging broke lawn mowers home just to see what was inside.

When you can finance a new jeep for 96 months, then buy axles on easy payments and have it all installed in a weekend everyone gets tons and 40's.

Meanwhile my cheap ass is spending forever screwing around sourcing 30 year old obsolete parts building my junk.

It's all worth it when I come in covered in Toyota Glitter and sweat though :homer: :lmao:

I get enough "kids" through the shop to know theres still pile of em hacking **** together an hoping it works

Rednecks are building wheeling rigs and the city kids are building drift cars. Not as much difference between the two as I would have thought

My boy has done both (27) , and there is a ton of cross culture, amazing how many drift guys have Toyota wheelers.

Started with an S14 and moved to an FJ80

While there are many talented builder/shops, not many ar good business men. Noone is making a dynasty hard-core offroad shop. not saying it couldn't be done. But the whole market is i can do that myself. We're gonna see a bunch of new talented shops close up in the coming yrs I think. Even JHF is moving his business model towards bolt on jeep parts.. there's just more of them folks.

On the younguns, idk.. I see alot more talented and educated ones than what our age group was at a young age. Idk about all areas but my area is full of young 20 yr old kids that have rigs with more money put in them than most of our 1st houses and 1st couple generations of u4 cars. While many dont build or **** their way through **** like we did back in the day. They dont need to drag lawnmowers home to figure out what's inside. They'll watch that on YouTube and tell you how to rebuild your current lawn mower. Their ability to find information on the internet is crazy. In my area they have a couple builders that are their age and those guys pretty much stay employed ful time building their buddies rigs while the buddies focus on work to pay for toys.

You aren’t lying. I was supposed to go to badlands with them a couple weeks ago and mentioned “Maxxis” once. Was a mistake! They all even prefer cheps over treps because of the sidewalls. But, that all kinda proves the point. Young kids beating in **** hard enough to know which sidewalls hold up best. Good on them. We need more of that

Cancelled my order yesterday. After 90 mins of calling them 15-20 times i finally got someone on the phone to tell me the same story "that they will ship on Friday". **** them. Ordered FK heims from Kartek for a few hundred more.

Two weeks. No movement on parts I was told were on the shelf. You'd think if they're on the shelf, they'd be quick to ship.

Im gonna go out on a limb and guess that they weren't actually on the shelf..... So not only are they making you wait for the parts, they are lying to you at the same time. **** them
