I remember it was mentioned somewhere at sometime but I’ve searched and searched and cant find it…

Anyone mount coilovers in the stock shock mounts of a 05+ SD60? The mounts look beefy enough? They’re wide enough at least (~1.5”)

Dont think there is enough room for a coil spring to sit down there is the issue. Unless your running a extended eye base. I have my limit straps mounted down there.

I’ll most likely be making new coil mounts for where the stock ones bolt, which has been another pain in the ass to search…its like nobody uses plain coils unless they’re using the stock super duty ones under some other fullsize. Buncha ballers out there :flipoff2:

Makes sense though, in for a nickel in for a dollar and all that lol

Someone has to be the first and document here, right? Try the extended eye if you have one.

Or modify a WFO mount to fit.

Like this? Worked great. Don’t remember whose bracket I used but probably Motobilt since most of the Jeep is their stuff!

Looks good!

But no, I was talking about the stock shock mounting location originally, not where the coil “bucket” was

One thing to be careful of, the coil bucket mounting location is really high up, if you aren't putting the top mount of the shocks through the inner fenders and near the hood, it might end up being crazy tall.

This is how mine came out with 12” front COs.

Answering my own question for anybody who may search this in the future…

Looks like WFO puts coilovers in the stock shock mounts on their builds so its most likely gtg 👍🏻

Is it because most of their builds are radius arms using their kits, or does it fit and everyone just goes to coilovers?

They use their radius arm kit, but any links using the stock brackets would functionally be the same. They say that they go with 2.0s but one of their guys squeezed 2.5s in there

If I had to do it again on my Cherokee I would go with 2.0s. 2.5s are overkill unless going fast.
